In today’s episode, I’m joined by May Cheung, founder and licensed holistic practitioner behind Calma Healing Space.
May is a licensed acupuncturist and fully insured member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists, with over two decades of experience supporting women through some of the most powerful transitions of their lives, particularly fertility and menopause.
May’s work weaves together traditional East Asian medicine, modern scientific understanding, and a deeply intuitive, attuned presence. Her approach reminds us that healing isn’t something that happens in isolation or through one modality alone , it’s about understanding the body as a whole, honouring its natural rhythms, and creating space for stillness, listening, and wisdom to emerge.
In this conversation, we explore why massage can only take us so far, how the body is deeply interconnected, and why ancestral wisdom still has so much to teach us , especially when it comes to menopause. We talk about yin and yang energy, individual experiences of transition, blending science with deep intuition, and what it means when your training hasn’t just been something you studied, but something you’ve lived.
This is a rich, honest conversation about confidence in your work, trusting embodied knowledge, and remembering that wisdom doesn’t only come from certificates, it comes from experience, presence, and being truly attuned to life and those you serve.
