BENEDICTION THE INCARNATION The Angel of the Lord declared to Mary: And she conceived of the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Behold the handmaid of the Lord: Be it done unto me according to Thy word. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. He hath showed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; As he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed forever. And the Word was made Flesh: And dwelt among us.(And we beheld his glory, the glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men. Let us pray: Blessed are you O God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our Father, Who have pour forth Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. When the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because we are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore we art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ Our Lord. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen. THE CROSS For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. By whose stripes we were healed. Christ suffered for us, leaving us an example, that we should follow his steps. By his stripes we were healed. Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again. By his stripes we were healed. When he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judges righteously. By his stripes we were healed. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: By whose stripes we were healed. For we were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of our souls. By his stripes we were healed. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
