I have a dream! Setting Goals and Dreaming for the real you

I often think about whether where I’ve wound up in the world today is where I expected to be so many years ago. Have I given up on goals or dreams that I had? Were they ones that still hold meaning for me or are they ones that over time have lost the importance they once held?

Looking back, I think that over time we shed what we don’t need, keep what we do. Some of it is for survival and necessity, some of it is simply because we have moved on, and some of them simply always stay held deep within our hearts.

First of all, if it was something let go of for the sake of necessity and it is now safe to reclaim it, I wonder what holds you back from going for it and stepping back toward your first dream?

This is what I’ve felt, mostly for safety, I had to release the things I wanted or in some cases, hide away who I really was inside instead, just coming out with exactly who I felt I had to be. But not that these don’t serve you in some ways as well, but if you’re safe, there’s real strength that comes from rediscovering yourself and your passion.

We definitely all grow and evolve over the years which is so wonderful that we’ve been given that gift to change and get back to our roots. So tell me, have you given up on your first dream? Or are you reclaiming it now? Are you building new dreams that hold more value and meaning than ones from the past?

Do you remember, girls got wild? Courtney Kocak joins us today to share her experience being recruited for an exploited on the The Girls Gone wild tour. Courtney is an avid podcast and author and freelancer, and is celebrating the release of her book Girl Gone Wild about her experience being part of Girls Gone Wild and how it has made her a stronger woman, a better feminist and entrepreneur and to take control of her life and build something beautiful from it. The early 2000s late 90s were rife with degradation and humiliation of women and it’s with conversations like these that we are able to change behaviors and build a better future for everyone to thrive in.

We are talking about empowerment building boundaries, finding safety and strength in discovering who you are in personal growth and development.

  • The Best Love Letter I've Ever Written!

The Best Love Letter I’ve Ever Written

That’s right! It’s the best love letter I’ve ever written, and this time, it’s being written to myself. What would you say to yourself from the perspective of your very best day to you on your worst and most difficult day.

I had this lovely conversation with my fiancé about this and it was interesting to explore the fact that it ca be really difficult to get yourself out of a rut or set yourself back to the state of feeling fabulous and motivated and like you can achieve what you desire.

Sometimes low mood strikes me REALLY badly which I’ve spoken about a little bit in the past through various episodes especially dealing with PMDD as well as PTSD. Some days are simple and some days are harder than others. But writing this letter, I truly have pinned it up on my wall because it has made a difference reminding myself of that even when the days don’t feel like it’s possible to pull yourself back into joy.

So if you wrote yourself a love letter to yourself on your worst day, what would you say? I hope it’s filled with kindness, compassion, gentleness, calm and understanding.
