The LAYERED Podcast is what happens when a celebrity cake artist marries the guy who never stops giving his opinion. Hosted by Brittni Popp, founder of the nationally recognized brand Betchin Cakes, and her husband Michael, every episode peels back the layers of marriage, relationships, business, pop culture, internet chaos, and the conversations everyone is thinking—but nobody wants to say out loud. From celebrity stories and behind-the-scenes moments to hilarious arguments, hot takes, entrepreneurship, friendships, and the occasional overshare, nothing is off-limits. Brittni has spent years building cakes for celebrities, major brands, and unforgettable events, while Michael somehow became an expert on… absolutely everything. One story. Two completely different versions. New episodes every week featuring unfiltered conversations, special guests, and plenty of moments that probably should’ve stayed in the group chat. • EPI 009 – BIRTHDAYS, BETCHIN CAKES & A KARDASHIAN CONFESSION
    Oct 26 2026

We're back, baby. And apparently, taking a couple of weeks off just means life has more time to become completely unhinged.

After surviving the absolutely disrespectful Los Angeles heat wave (because since when did we move to the surface of the sun?), Brittni and Michael are back, slightly overheated, fully booked, and ready to unpack it all.

Between celebrating Michael's birthday, heading to the Rams vs. Bills game, and Brittni landing her first global campaign featuring Betchin Cakes, it's been a busy few weeks. One of us is making career moves, the other is just happy football season is back. We'll let you figure out who's who.

But the real tea? Brittni is finally spilling the story behind the Betchin Cake she created for Khloé Kardashian and how Tristan Thompson somehow ended up getting the credit. Because apparently, you can make the cake, deliver the cake, and still not be the one who takes the cake. Tristan, the jig is up!

We're talking marriage, milestones, reality TV, pop culture, and the headlines that have everyone acting like they were personally involved. Plus, we're opening the Notes App for some relationship talk that might hit a little too close to home and sharing what's been on our minds lately. And trust us, some thoughts probably should've stayed in the drafts.

We've got birthdays, big moves, questionable behavior, and plenty of opinions nobody asked for.

Two weeks off, a lifetime of material, and apparently some people are still taking credit for things they didn't do.

Welcome back to Layered. We've got receipts, and this time we're serving them with cake.

  • EPI 008 – THE PRESSURE: FAMILY, PLANS & FANTASY
    Sep 20 2026

We’re back after missing one week, and honestly, blame Los Angeles.

It was so miserably hot that the idea of sitting in a studio under lights and trying to have a normal conversation sounded like a terrible idea. The heat had everyone irritated, over it, and one minor inconvenience away from losing it — so we skipped a week and waited for everyone to become human again.

Now we’re catching up on everything that piled up in the meantime. Fantasy football is officially back, plans are stacking up, events are nonstop, and Brittni is trying to balance meetings, cake orders, the podcast and the very real feeling that she’s missing the fun stuff while trying to build all of it.

Michael has been the one showing up when Brittni can’t, which somehow makes the guilt worse instead of better.

Basically: the calendar is full, fantasy is back, everybody has somewhere to be, and we’re trying to figure out how to keep up without completely losing it.

  • EPI 007 - THE REVEAL: OUR LAYER, FESTIVAL LORE & RIFF RAFF
    Sep 4 2026

Brittni and Michael finally turn the cameras on and welcome everyone into their Layer — because apparently having microphones wasn’t enough evidence.

The South Bay is melting in a brutal heat wave when their neighbors drop off a Mid-Autumn Festival gift, which somehow leads to a genuinely thoughtful conversation about tradition, spiritual timing, meaningful gestures, and why returning that kind of thoughtfulness can mean so much.

Very sweet. Very grounded. Very “look at us growing.”

    That lasts about five minutes.

Bethenny Frankel heads to Burning Man, one of Brittni’s comments gets pulled into the mix, and suddenly Michael is being handed a full historical briefing on his wife’s festival era like he accidentally opened a classified file.

Two years of Diplo’s Mad Decent Boat Party.
    Getting stranded in Cuba.
Partying in the middle of the ocean with Zeds Dead.
    Brunch with Borgore.
A private island in the Bahamas.

And, casually buried in the archives, making out with RIFF RAFF.

Which is exactly the kind of information you assume your spouse has already told you until you realize… apparently not.

So now Michael is processing festival lore, Cuba, the Bahamas, and one extremely specific rapper while Brittni keeps remembering details like she’s unlocking bonus footage from her own twenties.

First video episode. New studio. Spiritual signs. Festival chaos. Questionable decisions. RIFF RAFF.

Turns out the microphones were never the problem.

The cameras just gave the evidence better lighting.
