  • EP#10 - Everyone's Screaming About AI - What About The D-Word That's Here Now?
    Jul 21 2026
This episode explores reclaiming ownership, exploring the appalling statistic that 78% of managers are disengaged. People are hurting! What can a leader do about it?

Are you part of the 78% that is disengaged at work, dropped into survival mode?

Are you feeling isolated, confused? Is the problem the team? Or maybe it is you? Or the place you’re in?

Are you asking the questions, what can be done and looking for the answers?

    Highlights

This me calling out to see if The Olive Tree Method will help the disengagement so many leaders are feeling and, for me, is worse than what AI looks like in the future. This is with us now. A leader who isn't engaged, can't even think about how to start leading their team through AI adoption. They're thinking about making it to the end of the day.

Champions of the environment - The coaching philosophy: your job isn't to fix people or implement systems. It's to build up the team you have in the environment you're in, and support them as champions of that space. Champions are not the norm, they are built, refined and every detail is obsessed over! Can you look at you and your team in the same way?

"Everything depends on you" - Your nervous system state is the foundation. Your team is a direct reflection of it. That can be empowering.

Disengagement is protection, not failure - Leaders often misinterpret team withdrawal as easy resistance. It's actually a survival response to dysregulation. Understanding this can reframe how you look at how they are reacting and what to do to support them.

The Olive Tree Method reveals conditions - It's designed to quickly surface what's actually happening, initiate real conversations, and help you map where you are and where you need to be, together.

If you're ready to lead differently, this is your starting point.

  • EP#09 - Why Team Meetings Can Kill Teamwork & Employee Engagement
    Jul 2 2026
This episode reveals why bad meetings quietly cost you trust and engagement, and how reframing them as one of your most valuable leadership platforms helps develop teamwork and connection.

Do you dread your own team meetings - or suspect your team quietly does?

Is your team just getting through the agenda, or actually feeling closer to you and each other by the end?

Are your meetings something you run at your team, or something you've actually designed with them?

    Highlights
Being good at meetings isn't about better agendas. It's about recognising the room you're standing in front of every week as the single best, cheapest, most repeatable opportunity you have to lead, connect and develop the team.

In this episode I own several of my own meeting mistakes, walk through two real "meetings gone wrong" stories and what they cost the business, and share three moments that reveal what meetings can build when they are run with people and engagement in mind.

I close with a simple shape-structure for a meeting people actually want to be in and explain why more meetings aren’t the enemy, more time spent in meetings isn’t the enemy. Bad meetings are the enemy.

  • EP#08 - Is Your Team Bracing for Impact? What Stable Leaders Do Differently
    Jun 18 2026
This episode reveals why teams brace for impact and what stable leaders do differently to build teamwork and employee engagement using people-first leadership principles

Do you find yourself passing stress down to your team without meaning to?

Is your team spending more energy reading your mood than doing their best work?

Are you the same person on a hard day as a good one, or is your team quietly bracing for impact?

Being a stable leader isn't about being perfect. It's about being someone your team doesn't have to brace against.

In this episode I pick up the COVID story from where I left it and share what happened when I invited a team to choose their environment. I also share the story of a friend's workplace transformation, why the carpark at one office told you everything about what kind of day it was going to be, and why lightening up might be the most underrated leadership tool you have.

I walk through three practical moves that shift your team from reactive to proactive, communicate changes before they land, distribute workload with awareness, and plan ahead visibly. None of them are complicated. All of them change how your team feels about who's leading them.

When your team can see you're thinking ahead for them, you stop being the person who passes the pressure down and instead start being the person who protects the ground.

There is no standing back watching someone burn.

That's the shift. And it changes everything.
