Her extensive work in theatre includes a series of plays in both English and Hindi. She rose to prominence the hit TV serial Idhar Udhar in the 1980s and later with Sarabhai vs Sarabhai in 2004. Some of her recent works include Kutch Express, Dhak Dhak, Hum Do Humare Do, Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.

He is known for playing both comedic and villainous roles in Bollywood films - Munna Bhai MBBS, 3 Idiots , Khosla Ka Ghosla, Well Done Abba and Don to name a few. His passion for cinema led him to set up Irani Movietone, his own production house, and he will be soon making his directorial debut with the film The Mehta Boys.
