  • The Muddy Cross - Blame
    Jan 9 2026

    Send us a text

When life goes wrong and prayers feel unanswered, our instinct is often to look for someone to blame - other people, circumstances, systems and sometimes even God.

In this episode of The Muddy Cross, we explore blame through the lens of scripture. From the Garden of Eden to the cross, we look at where blame began, why it feels so natyural and how it quietly keep us stuck.

    We talk about:

Blame as a defence mechanism rooted in shame, fear and pain.

The difference between lamenting to God and blaming God.

Hoe Jesus dismantles blame and introduces redemption.

Why taking responsibility is not self-condemnation, but a path to freedom.

This conversation isn't clean, It's honest. And at the Cross, blame ends... and mercy begins.

  • The Muddy Cross - Church Share
    Jan 2 2026

    Send us a text

We were recently invited by our church to share about our recent mission trips to Albania 🇦🇱

Over the past few months, we’ve taken part in two short trips (October and November). Some of the stories may already be familiar through our podcast, The Muddy Cross, so today isn’t about repeating what we did — it’s about what God has been teaching us.

Mission isn’t just about travelling or projects. It’s about the heart God is forming in us.

Albania reminded us that you don’t need to cross a border to be on mission — you simply need to be willing to be sent. Mission begins right where we are: in our workplaces, homes, communities, and sometimes beyond our borders.

We also learned that God can use us even when we feel empty or unfinished, that mission is about planting seeds (both big and small), and that it begins not with speaking — but with listening.

As we talk, we’ll share photos from both trips and reflect on how Albania has shaped the way we now live on mission every day.

Looking ahead, we’re stepping into the next chapter — converting a van and continuing to say yes to where God sends us.

Thank you to our church community for making these trips possible. Please pray for us and join us on the journey.

🙏 “Here I am, Lord. Send me.”

  • The Muddy Cross -The Wilderness Walk
    Dec 9 2025

    Send us a text

At first glance, The Wilderness moment in Luke 4 looks like a showdown between Jesus and the devil. But if you look closer you will find it's actually a powerful masterclass in identity, purpose and spiritual resilience. In this episode, we unpack what really happens when the Spirit leads Jesus into the wilderness and why this moment matters so deeply for our own walk with God. Because the wilderness isn't a punishment.... it's preparation. Before Jesus preaches... Before He heals... Before He gathers followers... He confronts the temptations that could destroy His calling, and so will we. Join us as we explore:

    • Why God sometimes leads us into lonely, silent or difficult seasons.
    • How the enemy often disguises temptation as something good or 'deserved'
    • The three core temptations every believer faces: appetite, ambition and approval.
    • Why shortcuts always cost more than they promise.
    • How Jesus uses Scripture - not willpower - to fight lies with truth.
    • How the Holy Spirit forms us, strengthens us and walks with us in every wilderness.

The wilderness is not a place where you are forgotten. It's where you are formed. The same Spirit who strengthened Jesus strengthens you.

  • The Muddy Cross - What is Church?
    Nov 28 2025

    Send us a text

In this episode of The Muddy Cross Podcast we ask the question, What is Church?

As we have moved between communities and travelled, we've often been away from a physical Sunday service, which led us to rethink what Scripture actually teaches. Is church a building, a weekly event or something far more meaningful?

We explore the bibical roots of Ekklesia - the early church as a gathering of people united in worship, prayer and shared life. Church wasn't a location; it was a community, a spiritual family.

Through verses like Matthew 18:20, Acts 2, and Corinthians 3, we look at how the early believers lived; breaking bread, supporting each other, serving quietly and meeting God together in everyday moments.

We discuss how modern Christianity sometimes shifts the focus towards buildings and programs and why it's vital to remember that the people are the church. Our relationship with God and one another is what truly defines the Body of Christ - not the place we meet.

This episode is an invitation to rediscover church as a living community. A family that gathers, serves, loves, forgives and walks the narrow path together with Christ at the centre.

As Jesus commands in Matthew 28:19-20, we are called to go, make disciples and trust that He is with us always.
