Back from Pirate Fest on Tybee and straight into the biggest hardware-wallet story in a long time. The Ledger exploit: tiny transmission chips installed inside devices resold through Crypto Billis (and apparently several other licensed third-party resellers) that recorded the device screen while owners set up their seed phrases and PINs. Ledger's response — publishing the IPB exploded-view diagram of every wallet so you can disassemble yours and look for spyware — got a 25-minute Alex rant and the open question of why this company is still a company. The attacker's cash trail ran through Zcash → Tornado Cash → USDC; approximately $2.9M is sitting at an address USDC could freeze right now. If you bought direct from Ledger, you're fine. From anywhere else, swap it. Arculus is $60 (down from $99) through the end of October.

Will's updated macro call going into tomorrow's CPI print (8:30am EST + PPI Thursday): the government changed PCE methodology, which swung the last reading 0.3% toward 'inflation is cooling.' CPI at BLS methodology hasn't changed. Expectations: 3.6% headline (vs 3.4% prior), 2.5% core (vs 2.4%). Fed watch 80.6% hold / 19.4% hike. If CPI prints hot, those odds whip hard and the market punishes it — 'perfectly built middle manipulative setup' heading into the midterms. Alibaba waits for a $120 reclaim before Doug goes long.

Full crew on the Tybee Island couch — Evan, Alex, and Will in person — opens with Will driving the Bitcoin chart live. The three signals that triggered yesterday's Beacon short call: an 8-hour BTC candle with a tall upper wick at the top of the wedge, an RSI trendline break on the 12-hour, and a hammer candle on daily oil (which runs inverse to BTC). Target $82K first, prepare for $76K (the 12-EMA on the 3-month that gets touched in every bear-to-bull transition). Long-term still 'bullish bullish bullish' on the 3-month and monthly.

Then the L2 die-off — Abstract and Blast both shut down this week. Will's take: Ethereum mainnet keeps getting faster and cheaper, collapsing the competitive case for L2s. Companies with real customization needs will build their own; everyone else just uses mainnet. Polygon grave-danced in the wake of the shutdowns and the timeline wasn't having it. Sam Stephanie noted this is now a long log of companies — Abstract, Pumped Out Fun, Thousands, Blaze, Soldan — that tried live streaming as a go-to-market and got taken out, mostly because moderation discipline was never real.
