  • ALL THE INDY DRAMA (our NICE version) And Why Did Backlash Feel Like SmackDown?
    May 10 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Backlash has the WWE logo on it, but we can’t lie, it plays like a dressed up SmackDown and that changes how every match lands. We talk through the night with zero filter: what worked, what felt rushed, and why some booking decisions feel way too early for the kind of long story WWE usually wants to tell. If you’re searching for a WWE Backlash review that’s more than a results recap, we get into the actual texture of the show, from the crowd energy to the moments that did not hit the way they were meant to.

The bright spots still shine. We dig into Sami vs Trick, the never ending debate of “respect the kendo stick,” and why heel character work falls apart when the presentation sends mixed signals. Then we give Asuka vs IYO SKY their flowers, because that match is the kind of pro wrestling chemistry you can’t fake. And yes, we spend real time on Danhausen, because when a character can make you laugh and still go, that’s the magic that keeps wrestling fun.

Then the conversation turns serious, because the independent wrestling community is dealing with drama that’s bigger than a storyline. We talk about accountability, why wrestling should be a safe place, and why silence from the people in charge can do real damage. We also hit the worker shoot chaos around questionable “training certificates,” shout out the promotions we love, and push hard for showing up to indie shows and helping good companies find venues so they can run.

If you ride with us, subscribe, share the episode with a wrestling friend, and leave a review so more fans find the show. What was your real match of the night, and what should the indie scene do when trust gets broken?
