Her areas of interest include the human-animal bond, emergency medicine, and critical care. She is well know for her lectures and talks specifically on pet loss and the grief that follows.

She shares how she healed herself from the euthansia guilt she experieced after saying goodbye to Scout and how she expanded her heart to bring a new dog into her home.
