  • PURPOSE THROUGH ADVERSITY with Nick Lavery
    Sep 17 2023

In every corner of society, you can find individuals who have faced adversity, those unexpected and often extremely harsh challenges that life throws your way. What truly sets these remarkable individuals apart is not the adversity itself, but the choices they make on the other side of it.

My guest today, Nick Lavery is the true embodiment of resilience and determination. Nick lost his leg as a result of an insider attack while serving as a US Army Green Beret in Afghanistan. But what distinguishes Nick’s story is the unwavering decision he made to forge ahead, not merely as a survivor but as someone who would become the very best version of himself. Instead of succumbing to despair or allowing his circumstances to define him, he chose to rise above the challenges, embrace his new reality, and embark on a remarkable journey of self-mastery.

Today we talk about the challenges he faced in the aftermath of losing his leg, his book Objective Secure and the lessons within it, the importance of discipline, and his plans for when he eventually leaves the Army.

  • ORDER OF MAN with Ryan Michler
    Sep 3 2023

Due to today's rapidly changing society, traditional masculinity and manhood find themselves at a crossroads. It's a paradoxical situation where, despite its enduring importance, the very essence of what it means to be a man and its traits is regularly questioned and redefined to fit these shifting times.

My guest today, Ryan Michler, has dedicated the last eight years of his life tirelessly working to preserve the timeless qualities of masculinity. On his own journey, he has also helped hundreds of thousands of men understand the importance of these qualities and, in the process, inspired them to reclaim their own sense of purpose through his podcast, Order of Man!

Today we talk about what lead him to start Order of Man, the 2 books he has authored on the subject of masculinity, embracing masculine traits which the common narrative in society doesn’t want us to exude, and the difference between being a good man and being good at being a man.

  • DEFYING ODDS WITH COURAGE with Lt Col Sulle Alhaji
    Aug 20 2023

Racism has far-fetching effects on individuals, societies, and the world at large. It perpetuates inequality, hinders social progress and fosters division amongst people.

My guest today, Sulle Alhaji, was subjected to racism from a very young age. This racial discrimination followed him into the army when he joined the parachute regiment and, although he eventually fought back against the bigotry and was no longer subjected to the physical side of it, it left him with psychological scares which have affected him ever since. Despite this, Sulle defied the expectations of others and left the army, after a career spanning 4 decades, having reached the rank of Lt Col.

Today we talk about the racism he was subjected to growing up, joining the army, receiving multiple threats on his life from the others in his platoon, fighting in The Falklands Conflict, and how, despite reaching the rank of Lt Col, he still had echoes from his past tell him he wasn’t worthy.
