    What a great time to be alive in the world!

    With all of the things that are going on all over the globe, I am often asked, "How can you say that?" -or- "What are you so happy about?"

    Let me explain. Yesterday, I ended up on a call with the tech department of my email service because things we not loading right in my browser. I could not access my follow-up campaigns and I needed to make some very important edits.

    So here I am asking how "Michelle" is doing. Checking in on how here day was. Smiling while I shared about my day and my kids. Sharing some humorous things my son had said that morning. All in all, just treating her like a person instead of someone who was supposed to make my life better.

    I joked with her and said, "I really do apologize for making your morning difficult. I am sure you could have dealt with five easier fixes by the time we het this squared away! LOL"

    Her answer...

    "Well, sir...this is certainly less than ideal." That set me back for a moment and then she went on to say, "For you that is. For me, this is the best call I have had in months! You can't access a service you are paying for, we can't seem to find a solution, I am going to have to escalate it to a different department, and yet here you are...showering me with kindness! How...?"

    So I said, "Let me explain. If you squeeze an apple - you get apple juice. If you squeeze an orange - you get orange juice. When things go wrong and you begin to feel the pressures of the world all around you - what spills out is what is inside you. You can't control in your situation what is outside of your ability but you can control what you add to it."

    I heard it all change in her voice in that moment and she found a level of peace from that moment on. She never did solve the issue. It has been escalated and they are currently working on a solution. The important thing is that a simple conversation created an opportunity to connect and impact someone powerfully.

    That is why it is such a great time to be alive. Never before has their been such a need worldwide for connection and guidance. The world is lost in so many different ways and you have the ability to be a leader in your area. Don't let the opportunity pass you by.
