  • AI Can Create the Content — But Can It Make People Care? | Josh Porter
    Oct 8 2026

AI can create more content than any marketing team in history.

But can it make people care?

In this episode of The Synthetic Echo Podcast, I sit down with Josh Porter, founder of Thunderwolf Consulting and author of The Last Human Marketer, to talk about the part of marketing AI still struggles to replace:

    Human understanding.

Josh has spent years marketing complex technology, including work with Google Cloud and AI scale-ups. His argument is simple:

Your customers do not care how impressive your technology is.

They care whether it solves a problem they actually have.

That sounds obvious — yet AI companies constantly fall into the same trap.

Huge context windows. Millions of parameters. Faster models. More features. More automation.

    Meanwhile, the customer is asking:

“Okay… but what does this actually do for me?”

Josh explains why great marketing requires more than facts and features. It requires empathy — understanding your customer’s pain, goals and why they would choose to act.

    Because facts can inform people.

    Stories move them.

We also break down Josh’s Customer Connect Code:

    • Customer — Who are you actually talking to? • Channels — Where are they paying attention? • Category — What market are you really competing in? • Competition — What alternatives are customers comparing you against? • Capability — What outcome does your product create?

    And that last one matters.

Customers don’t care that your AI is technologically brilliant.

They care whether it saves money, increases productivity, improves customer experience, removes frustration or helps them grow.

We also tackle one of the biggest marketing mistakes:

    Trying to market to everyone.

If your message is designed for everybody, it usually resonates with nobody.

AI makes it incredibly easy to generate more posts, ads, landing pages and emails.

But producing more noise isn’t the same as creating more clarity.

The businesses that win in the AI era may not be the ones creating the most content.

They’ll be the ones customers understand the fastest.

    Josh’s message is clear:

You don’t need to explain everything your technology can do.

You need to tell a story your customer understands, believes and remembers.

  • Your Company Doesn’t Have an AI Problem — It Has a Clarity Problem | Mykel Salomon
    Oct 5 2026

Most companies don't have an AI problem.

    They have a clarity problem.

In this episode of The Synthetic Echo Podcast, I sit down with Mykel Salomon, founder of The Human Protocol Group and a human-centered AI advisor with 15+ years in global CX and support, to talk about what businesses are getting wrong about AI — and what humans need to do to stay relevant.

Too many companies are rushing to buy tools before they even understand the problem they're trying to solve.

    ChatGPT. Gemini. Claude. Automation. Agents.

    But technology should come last.

    First ask:

What are we trying to accomplish? What problem are we solving? What should AI handle? And what must remain human?

Because AI is not plug-and-play magic.

Without strategy, adoption and human buy-in, even the best technology becomes an expensive tool nobody uses.

We also tackle one of the biggest fears surrounding AI:

“Am I automating myself out of a job?”

Mykel's answer isn't to ignore the disruption.

Jobs will change. Some roles will disappear. New ones will emerge.

The question is whether you're willing to adapt.

We talk about the growing importance of the adaptability quotient — the ability to learn, evolve and use AI to expand what you're already capable of doing.

AI can help someone who couldn't write finally express an idea.

It can help a creator overcome missing technical skills.

It can help employees automate repetitive work while spending more time on the things that still require human judgment.

But that only works when humans stay involved.

We also break down the difference between automation and intelligent automation.

Traditional automation follows rules from A to B.

AI-powered automation can encounter something unexpected, use context and data, make a decision within its guardrails — or know when that decision needs to go back to a human.

    That's incredibly powerful.

It's also why blindly implementing AI can become incredibly dangerous.

This isn't a conversation about replacing humanity.

It's about using technology to help human beings become more creative, capable and valuable.

The future isn't AI versus humans.

It's humans who learn how to work with AI.

  • He Was a Top 1% Earner — Then He Almost Died and Realized He Was Living Wrong | Alan Lazaros
    Oct 1 2026

He did everything he was told would make him successful.

Straight-A student. Computer engineer. MBA. Corporate success. Top 1% earner.

Then, at 26, Alan Lazaros nearly died in a head-on car accident.

And suddenly, none of it mattered.

Because the crash forced him to confront a brutal question:

If my life ended today, would I actually be proud of how I lived it?

    His answer was no.

In this episode of The Synthetic Echo Podcast, I sit down with Alan Lazaros, Founder and CEO of Next Level University, for a raw conversation about success, fulfillment, trauma, relationships, humility, personal development and what it really means to reach your potential.

Alan describes the accident as the moment that took him off autopilot.

You can make money. You can build a career. You can collect accomplishments. You can look successful from the outside...

…and still be living someone else’s definition of a good life.

One of the hardest-hitting ideas from this conversation:

People want a Level 10 life with Level 2 willingness.

We want extraordinary relationships without difficult conversations.

    We want confidence without failure.

We want growth without looking honestly in the mirror.

    It doesn’t work.

Alan and I get into why failure isn’t something to avoid — it’s something you have to fail forward through.

We talk about childhood conditioning, trauma, parents, relationships, work ethic, self-awareness and why humility matters so much when you’re trying to grow.

We also get into what I call “junk food for the soul” — money, partying, status and short-term validation that can feel like fulfillment without ever fixing what’s underneath.

    Alan’s philosophy today is simple:

Do all you can with all you have to reach your own potential — and help others do the same.

Be healthier. Become wealthier. Love deeper. Climb meaningful mountains.

    And above all:

    Strive and never arrive.

    Because the goal isn’t perfection.

The goal is becoming better than you were yesterday.

If you’ve ever achieved something you thought would finally make you happy — only to wonder, “Is this it?” — this conversation is for you.
