With Ohio State about to open preseason camp with a team once again considered capable of winning a national championship, 8th-year head coach Ryan Day talks about the value of having arguably the best player in the country, 3rd-year receiver Jeremiah Smith, stepping forward and speaking up as a leader.

Day also talks about the tough schedule the Buckeyes face, including trips to Texas, Indiana, Southern California and Iowa while hosting Oregon and Michigan, and how it could hone the team for a College Football Playoff run.

Jeremiah Smith agrees, saying that wasn't the case last year. Plus, attorney Luke Fedlam, an expert in the realm of NIL and transfer portal things, speaks on the pluses and minuses of the proposed bill in the Senate which would put some guardrails on college athletics.

Bottom line, there's a good chance college athletics are going to have Feds looking over their shoulders if the bill goes through.

Kerner shares his thoughts on Ohio State cornerbacks Jermaine Matthews and Devin Sanchez, and the challenge for second-year defensive coordinator Matt Patricia.

Clay and Tim enjoy the give-and-take with Kerner, one of those fellas from the original Ohio State talent pipeline from Brookhaven High School.

Then Tim runs down author (The Gales of November, New York Times Best Seller) and Michigan football purveyor John U. Bacon. They discuss the latest happenings in the UM athletic department.

Like others, Bacon heavily criticizes the school's refusal to release some kind of copy of the $11 million internal investigation that, among other things, has led to the removal of athletic director Warde Manuel, but not until the end of the calendar year.

Hahaha. That's right.

He's supposed to play a role in the cleanup of the mess he helped create within the department.
