• RIP to a Local Icon + The Memorial Tournament is Raring to Go On Its 50th Anniversary
    Jun 1 2026

Clay does double duty on a couple of interviews while Tim simply listens - hard to believe, we know.

But there is Clay's reminiscence of Upper Arlington iconic lacrosse coach Ted Wolford who passed away unexpectedly late last week at 66. He steered the high school to 16 state titles in his 25 seasons at the helm from 1992 to 2016, but had much more impact than just his 460 cumulative wins.

Clay's interview with current UA coach Kyle Olson covers that.

Clay also speaks with Memorial Tournament executive director Dan Sullivan on the eve of the 51st event, which, as he explains to Clay, makes it the 50th anniversary of the tournament that Jack Nicklaus founded on the world-renowned course he designed and built.

    It's local icons day!

  • Jerry Emig Spent Decades Working with Ohio State Hall of Fame Coaches & Players
    May 29 2026

As a sports information director, Jerry Emig used hard work and personality to rise through the ranks over the past couple of decades as the lead contact for Ohio State football and for a slate of Hall of Fame coaches and players.

He talks with Tim about his beginnings, even his run as an oiler on a dredging boat in the Mississippi River delta region, before climbing the ladder in the SID world.

That included a time at Temple, where he worked closely with one of the great basketball coaches of our time, John Chaney, from whom he received salient advice at just the right time.

    Great conversation.

  • Just Sayin, Ohio State QB Shares Thoughts During Panini Stickers/Cards Promotion for World Cup
    May 27 2026

Of course, the way last season ended left a sour taste for Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin, but that has just made the off-season work that much more focused as the Buckeyes prep for the toughest schedule in the nation in 2026. Sayin shared his thoughts on that and more as he made a public appearance at the Midwest Card Shop in the arena district on behalf of Panini to promote their World Cup sticker and card exchange and collection in connection to this summer's extravaganza.

  • Tip of the Helmet to Rosenqvist & Meyer Shank Racing; Tribute to Those Who Have Died for Our Country
    May 25 2026

The daring pass down the home straight by Felix Rosenqvist gave Pataskala-based Meyer Shank Racing its second - SECOND - Indianapolis 500 victory.

Kudos to Mike Shank and his team for being lead actors in the drama that produced the closest finish in 500 history, Rosenqvist beating Team Penske's David Malukas by 0.0233 of a second.

Plus, Clay and Tim pay tribute on Memorial Day to the men and women who have fallen in defense of our great nation.

    Salute!

  • At Indy 500, 'Drivers! Start Your Engines!' + Big Ten & SEC Just Keep Yammering!
    May 23 2026

While the Big Ten (24-team playoff) and the Southeastern Conference (16 teams, no more) apparently are still far apart on the future of major college football, the Indy 500 heads into its 110th running with the traditional 33 drivers seeking reputational immortality. Much like Bobby Rahal did 40 years ago, as he put Hilliard-based Truesports and terminally ill team owner Jim Trueman on the winner's stand of the world's most famous race. Pataskala-based Dillon Davis talks about all those things, sound from Rahal, his son Graham, who is trying again to gain his first 500 victory, and Pataskala-based Meyer Shank Racing founder Mike Shank, whose three-car team is seeking its second win, including Helio Castroneves, 51, trying to become Indy's first five-time victor. • No SCORE Yet by Congress to Corral Major College Athletics - Attorney Luke Fedlam Helps Us Understand
    May 20 2026

Almost a decade ago then-young attorney Luke Fedlam could see what was coming for major college athletics once players gained NIL and transfer rights, so he jumped into preparation, especially the realm of helping athletes and their parents understand their new rights.

Of course, major college athletics is now well into its wild west phase, which is why Congress has been trying to come up with a bill that "corrects" some of the problems.

Luke Fedlam, of the AmundsenDavisLaw.com firm, joined Clay and Tim to talk about the failure to launch for the latest version of the SCORE Act, and much more.

  • The Preakness, PGA Championship & Indy 500 Qualifying: Tim and Clay Have Questions For Each Other!
    May 18 2026

There was the Preakness (Do people really care when the Kentucky Derby winner bypasses it?,), the PGA Championship (Does a surprise winner like Aaron Rai move your needle?), and Indy 500 qualifying including the run for the pole (Race fans gained another glimpse of Alex Palou at the height of his powers, but do regular folks care?).

Clay, who apparently grilled his dinner on Saturday AND Sunday, and Tim flip the steaks and shishkabobs on what it all means, Alfie.

  • Digging into the Numbers of Ohio State's Golden Age ... It's NOW, By the Way...
    May 15 2026

Stat guru extraordinaire Matt Gutridge sits in with Tim to talk Ohio State football numbers.

Like how close Jeremiah Smith is to taking two major school career records, and he's just going into his third season. And the spate of quarterback passing accuracy under Ryan Day.

Also, Matt turns the table and asks Tim a few questions.

So, of course, this went long.
