  • Episode 3: Keep it Simple and Streamlined
    Oct 5 2026

In the second of two "intermediate" episodes you will hear some audio extracted from longer patreon videos in which John talks about DMing and Game Design.

Keep it simple and streamlined. John talks about how to cut out unwanted content and deliver a more complete experience to your players - and for yourself.

This can be applied to running one shots, campaigns and scenario and system design

John draws on his own GMing and Game writing experience to illustrate this.

This video contains a digital white board mock up of how John (poorly) created a scenario which he later fixed.

If you want to see that - check out this longer video formerly only for Patreon members: Keep it Simple and Streamlined.

  • Episode 2: What's Your Point?
    Oct 5 2026

In one of two "intermediate" episodes you will hear some audio extracted from longer videos in which John talks about DMing and Game Design.

What's Your Point? Determine what the overall point of your RPG session, scenario or system is before you start writing or running the game.

This just doesn't pertain to plot or story - but the feeling and experience you want to deliver in your game.

John draws on his own GMing and Game writing experience to illustrate this.
