Canberra turns brittle before it breaks. After months of cost of living pressure, compromises that satisfy no one, and a weary public ready to snap, the capital hits a tipping point and a general strike freezes the country’s political heart. The rebellion that follows is bloodless, almost clinical, but the consequences are anything but: Prime Minister Antony Albanese is taken into custody, and suddenly the new power brokers face a problem no policy brief can solve.
We take you inside a fictional Australian political crisis where exile looks like the only option, until the modern world shuts the sky. International aviation security fears make airlines and government transport refuse the flight path, leaving a rogue workaround that feels ripped from history: the sea route. HMAS Australia becomes a floating pressure cooker as Albanese proves he’s still a creature of procedure and persistence, turning a ship’s mess hall into a courtroom of his own making and forcing his captors to confront an unnerving truth about control.
From there, the story tightens into surveillance, paranoia, and the slow grind of a long voyage. Cameras beam every move to the bridge, crew members are debriefed after every meal delivery, and exhaustion starts to look like the real mutiny. The journey stretches across oceans and into British waters, ending not with a diplomatic welcome but with a night-time compromise off Cornwall and a tiny launch pitched against a vast hull.
