About this listen

They Have Names is an audio project created and hosted by Mo Sati. Built from spoken-word storytelling, symbolic imagery, and sacred silence, the series guides listeners through the intimate textures of life—alleyways and living rooms, rooftops and schoolyards, clinics and classrooms—alongside artists, journalists, professors, and newlyweds. Each mini-series restores what the world keeps trying to flatten: names, childhoods, vocations, hopes, aspirations, traditions, and futures. It does not seek pity. It demands witness.

  • Hind Rajab: In Her Voice. Part 1
    May 7 2026

    Part 1: Memories

A glimpse into Hind’s childhood. The sea. The market. Mama’s birthday cake. Her dreams. Only a glimpse. Of a full life cut short.

This is not a reenactment. This is not Hind’s recorded voice. This is an imagined act of witness — a ritual of memory.

Details of Hind’s childhood are drawn from the textures of Palestinian lives of children in Gaza.

With the biggest thanks to Fadia — who transported us into Hind’s world.

  • Families, Traditions, and Mint Tea
    Apr 26 2026

Mint tea poured generously. Then poured again. Guests welcomed. Sweets passed. Neighbors who became family. Families who became neighborhood.

Traditions and histories that stretch back further than any registry can hold.

We speak their names. One at a time. One story at a time.

All names in this episode are real. They are drawn from verified public records.
