Unbeknown to John Kew, the 2 men were armed with a revolver.

A strugle ensued and one of the men shot the officer, who still wounded, managed to tackle him.

What John did not see, was that the revolver fell to the feet of the second offender.

A final shot rang out.

In 1982, June, PC David Haigh was sent to deal with, what he thought, a petty criminal sleeping in his car, not realising that this was a hardened criminal - David would pay with his life.

As the days went on, more and more people were to cross paths with this villian, paying with thier lives. No one was safe.

Sgt David Winter was searching for this offender and unfortunately came across him and was also murdered in cold blood, whilst his colleague escaped with his life, but still terribly injured.
