🚨🧇 San Francisco Has Found Its New Dirty Harry. And He’s a Waffle. 🧇🚨

This week, the Time Pals interview the creators of the new online animated series WAFFLE & COHEN!

From the wonderfully warped minds of comic artist Brian Hess (Nix, Mystical Misfits, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir) and veteran sound engineer and Bay Area DJ Steve Romanko (Star Wars , Fight Club, Final Fantasy IX, Rumble Racing) comes a buddy-cop cartoon inspired by classic ’70s cop shows and sitcoms, MAD Magazine, early Nickelodeon weirdness, and the beautifully bonkers spirit of the Bay Area.

Co-hosts Jon Powell and Mike Underscore sit down with Steve Romanko and Brian Hess to talk about their careers, their creative partnership, the accidental birth of Sgt. Waffle, and what inspired them to create their latest show.

DOUBLE DRAGON. RENEGADE WRESTLEFEST. AND THE WEIRDEST SHOOTER EVER MADE.

NEXT WEEK, MrBortman (@mrbortmanttv ) joins the Time Pals as we pay tribute to Yoshihisa Kishimoto, the legendary game designer whose work helped define the beat-’em-up—and eventually gave wrestling nerds one of the greatest arcade games of the 90’s

We’re going from Renegade and the birth of the modern street brawler to Double Dragon, to Honky Tonk Man and Hacksaw Jim Duggan getting immortalized in WWF Superstars. And oh yeah, lots of Wrestlefest love too.

🐉 How Renegade became Double Dragon and changed arcade gaming
💪 Why Kishimoto being bitter about a break-up was the best thing to ever happen.
🕹️ The strange evolution from Renegade to Double Dragon
🤼 What the flying EFF was Cho Aniki about?!
🏆 And WWF WRESTLEFEST—the arcade wrestling game so goddamn good we're STILL talking about it 35 years later.

Follow the Time Pals Podcast to keep up to date for new episodes and check out MrBortman on Twitch!

If you ever stood in front of a WrestleFest cabinet with a pocket full of quarters thinking:

“Who the hell is Mike McGuirk?”

This episode is for you.

THE TIME PALS ARE BACK — AND WE’RE BRINGING SPOOKY SEASON EARLY. 🎃

This week, hosts Jon Powell and Mike Underscore welcome Kyle Valle and Erin Áine, co-founders of Big Squid Films and the talented minds behind the cult indie horror-comedy ZOMBIECON VOL. 1 and Screamify’s new Micro Horrors™ thriller AUTONOMOUS!

We get into EVERYTHING about making an Indie Horror Movie:

- How a night of drinking, a Captain America shield, anime and a room full of movie props helped inspire ZombieCon Vol. 1.

- Practical gore, cosplay, filmmaking tricks and the anime DNA running through the movie.

🧟 What they have planned for ZombieCon Vol. 2 — including a time jump, a more dystopian world and something much, MUCH bigger.

- We talk Screamify’s Micro Horrors™,AUTONOMOUS, a 16-part vertical horror story that traps you in the backseat of a driverless car while a bad night gets progressively worse.

And because this is the Time Pals, we somehow also find time for killer drones, Warhammer, zombie-apocalypse weapons, terrible movie ideas and the usual collection of completely unnecessary tangents.

Basically, we tried to conduct a professional filmmaker interview. . .

. . .and We failed beautifully.

🧟 ZombieCon Vol.1 is available on Apple TV, Prime Video, Tubi and many more streaming platforms.

🚗 Autonomous is available exclusively on Screamify!
