• Ep. 119 - Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes: The Dry Drunk & Emotional Sobriety
    May 21 2026

Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Trudge Report. We go around the horn with some quick life updates. A 9-year-old’s birthday party at what sounds like the most amazing indoor playground ever. Greg sweats it out over game 7 for his Cavs. Corey shares a truly heartfelt and proud father moment of his daughter's dance recital and Dan on the road traveling home from a visit with his son Connecticut.

The recovery segment is all about what it means to be a dry drunk, what one looks like and how we can become one in our own recovery. Just putting down the drink is not even remotely enough. What we are after is emotional sobriety. If we harness that, then physical sobriety will have to follow. We break down what emotional sobriety looks like and how we attain it.

The great difference between love and fear is that love is always creative and fear is always destructive. -Emmet Fox-

  • Ep. 118 - Reaching Into the Darkness: The Truest Expression of Love & Watching Others Grow
    May 14 2026

Hello and welcome back to the Trudge Report Podcast. Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful mothers out there. Thank you for your listenership and support of the show. This week we are all scattered a bit. We are recording a day later than normal to make certain we were all available for Mother's Day and not cutting the holiday short. Dan is at softball tonight and Shawn is traveling for work but he might pop up later in the show. Greg and Corey are at the helm and God help us all. The boys discuss their respective Mother's Day festivities and the various endeavors they faced. Then they have a spirited discussion on grocery store flowers vs buying from a florist. Greg talks about a recent quick vacation to Dallas, TX.

Corey kicks off the recovery segment with a quote from former TRP guest, Chris McKinnel, and his new book The Warren Legacy. It sparks a great conversation about what it really means to be helpful to someone. What are the lengths and depths we go to helping a person find themselves and their spirit once again or for the first time. The privilege of watching people get sober, build families & lives, and then turn around and do the same for someone else.

  • Ep. 117 - Time To Man Up: An Exploration Of Character And Leadership
    May 7 2026

Hello and welcome back to the Trudge Report Podcast. Thank you for your listenership and support of the show. This week the four of us are back in action as we go around the horn. Greg is sweating out a game 7 for the Cavs in the 1st round of the NBA playoffs while Corey is very pleased with his Philadelphia Flyers series victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1st round of the Stanley Cup Finals. Dan has a very hot take and quick rant about soccer being the inferior youth sport (listeners make sure you let us know what you think in the comment section). Shawn tells a cool story of a kids t-ball team party at an ex major league baseball player's home.

The main topic in this episode surrounds the subject of what it actually means to be a man. Who taught us? What we were taught and what we got wrong. The lessons we learned growing up and especially once we got sober and evolved in this phase of our lives. We discuss how we feel we are perceived by others, mainly our families and friends. The role of being a provider versus a nurturer and the balance therein. We closed the show with what we would tell our former younger selves, the best piece of guidance we could give and what to watch out for. The great thing about this journey is that no one can take it for us or spare us of it.

  • Ep. 115 - Is Religion Enough? Where Religion & Spirituality Diverge In Our Recovery
    Apr 23 2026

Hello and welcome to another episode of Trudge Report. Thank you for listening and supporting the show. We begin this week with some quick life updates. Greg's week took a turn for the not so good but he's keeping a positive attitude and looking at it as an opportunity rather than a negative. Dan continues to be baffled by the hot and cold weather swings in his neck of the woods and also taking his daughter and her softball team to go watch Ohio State v Penn State softball. Corey power washes his mom's driveway and admits that it is mediocre at best. Followed by some late night Taco Bell runs.

The recovery portion of the show this week surrounds the necessity or choice of whether we in recovery practice any type of religion or belong to religious bodies. We make it clear that religion or religious membership is not mandatory for happy and lasting sobriety. However, there is some overlap for many of us and there are many people in recovery that choose to take up membership in religious organizations. We discuss what we feel works and does not work in religion, keeping it plain in sight that we are not telling anyone how they must or must not believe. We discuss each of our childhood religious upbringings and where we are now with these beliefs and practices.

  • Ep. 114 - Don’t Be THAT Guy: Navigating Humility And Happiness In Sobriety
    Apr 16 2026

Hello and welcome to another episode of Trudge Report. We go around the horn starting with Greg who is turning into the red-headed John wick and also knee deep in 37 different colors of off-white paint swatches. Danny trying to get through the post NCAA March Madness lull before NBA playoffs start. Corey getting ragged on by the group for ordering a Caesar salad as his entree.

Danny brings the recovery topic idea for this episode. We talk about what our newfound sobriety is like to friends and family and people close around us when we go from being scumbags and active addicts to fully sober and filled with the spirit. How we have to tow the line and not let our newfound spirituality come off as egotistical or holier than thou. How it sometimes takes longer to truly repair the Damage done in the past and how our feet and our actions must exceed our mouths. We don't try and fix others now that we have found a different way of life, we lead by example, and try to be the change we want to see.

  • Ep. 113 - The Great Resurrection: Life Takes On New Meaning & Helping Others At Their Lowest
    Apr 9 2026

Welcome back to this week's episode of Trudge Report. Thank you for supporting the show. First and foremost a very happy Easter to anyone who celebrates. We kick things off going around the horn with some talk about this very particular holiday, food comas, church services, and kids figuring out some things about the Easter Bunny. We touch quickly on the NCAA men's basketball tournament and Danny's UConn Huskies playing for a chance at the title game (note; by the time this comes out the championship has already been decided).

Corey then asks a great question about religion and faith. Making deeper connections and what these beliefs mean to us. It sparks a quick but in depth conversation and what it means to each of us. We then shift into the recovery segment which is a continuation of service to others, mentorship, and carrying this life-saving message into all of our activities. What it means to show up for people no matter the circumstances or personal sacrifice.

“The greatest jail break in all of history occurred on Easter morning. Therefore, we must remember that whatever our prisons might be and however impenetrable they might appear, your jail break is just a prayer away.” - Craig D. Lounsbrough

  • Ep. 112 - Giving It Away In Order To Keep It: Awareness Rants & Danny's UConn Huskies
    Apr 2 2026

Welcome back to this week's episode of Trudge Report. Thank you for supporting the show. We kick things off going around the horn. Danny is elated because his UConn Huskies just pulled off a thrilling comeback victory to propel them to the Final Four. We also get some flag football updates from Greg and then a quick but enticing soliloquy about grocery store etiquette.

The recovery topic surrounds spiritual awakenings and transformations as the result of the recovery work we do. We work the program not only to stay clean and sober but to have an experience that gives us a shift in our thoughts, ideas, and attitudes. This is what can give us lasting and fulfilling sobriety, not merely the physical act of staying off the drugs and alcohol. We also talk about being mentored and how we mentor others. We go through some of the mistakes we all made when we first began mentoring newer people, the pitfalls, lessons we have learned, but also the great joy we gain in giving this message to others.
