• S2. EP 001 - Dealing with hurt, loss, and trying to move forward
    Sep 8 2023

In this phase of life, one inevitable thing always presents its way through every person's journey: hurt and loss. Whether it's the sharp pain of a breakup, the profound grief of losing a loved one, the disappointment of unmet expectations, or the heartache of shattered dreams. Dealing with hurt and loss is a universal human experience. These emotions can be as overwhelming as they are inescapable, leaving us grappling with questions, searching for solace, and seeking a path toward healing.

In this episode, I embark on a journey of my emotional roller coaster. I give the raw emotions that accompany hurt and loss. The unique way in which I am processing and coping with my pain, and the remarkable resilience of the human spirit. My aim is to shed light on the darkness I am feeling, showering myself with grace, and learning to navigate the journey of healing and recovery.

Together, we'll discover that in the midst of hurt and loss, there is also hope, resilience, and the opportunity for profound healing.

  • EP. 010 -Motherhood with Friends Pt. 2
    Aug 27 2023

In this episode, we are continuing our chat from part one. Motherhood is such a broad topic to touch on and it was definitely difficult to put it all in one part. This episode will have many parts and all are very important topics to myself and the other mothers sharing their stories. Mothers face many challenges on a day-to-day basis but we never hear about it because at times we are told that not everything needs to be shared. But imagine if we took the time to share and show many women that they are not alone. Motherhood is hard and as Shantal said "Sometimes I wish I could unmotherhood." I felt that on a spiritual level.

I encourage you to share your stories but be mindful of how you share. Remember when sharing that your story may trigger someone, your story may bring joy to someone but better yet your story may uplift and encourage someone.

Welcome again guys to Unveiling with Neci.

  • EP.007 - Stress, stressors, and trying to cope
    Jul 30 2023

Stress can lead to anxiety, and stress that we ignore can lead to panic attacks, worsening mental, and physical health. This was my case because I ignored all the signs. Instead of dealing with my situations, I ignored them, and that lead to a whirlwind of shit. Talking about this was not easy but it is helping me to cope. If you are going through a stressful situation I hope you find the support you need and the help that will aid you to cope with your current situation.

  • EP.006 - I had no choice, I had to leave
    Jul 16 2023

Here I am one year into my specialty and I have to leave. I do not know why the healthcare field has become so toxic to stay in. I have tried talking myself into staying and it did not work. Dialysis I love you but I have to take a little break. The hours are too long for me to sit in discomfort. Resignation is not always the answer, but if you have sat with the individuals that are to be the change or to enforce the change and the situation remains the same; it is time to go. Don't let someone tell you that the discomfort you feel is from you overthinking it. In many cases, what you are feeling is what it is. Do not ignore that gut feeling.

  • EP.005 - Financial tips when moving to the USA alone
    Jul 9 2023

Moving to the USA alone is scary. I had to do everything alone. But I learned and you can too. Take a listen and relieve yourself of that fear. I love talking about what I went through and how I changed my life by saving and investing. However, I am not a financial advisor so for right now I will settle for just giving you tips and also sharing my journey so you will learn a thing or two.

The beauty of podcasting for me is being able to just share a story and have someone learn from my mistakes or my ignorance when it comes on to life and life lessons. This episode highlights a few things you can implement to prevent you from ending up in a financial bind when you move to the USA. No one thought me these things. I just had to learn for myself. It took me over two years and having a child to learn. I don't want it to be that long for you if you decide to make the move.

If you know a nurse that will be taking the leap of faith from their country to the USA please share this episode with them. I think it will help them greatly.

  • EP.004 - From a Shy student to a Devoted Teacher
    Jul 2 2023

In this episode, I am introducing a very special guest and a friend of mine. Before the name drop, I want to say it is so great to see how far we have come from being students at our alma mater Knox College to now being full-blown adults. I am a Registered Nurse and I have the pleasure of interviewing my Friend Lainey, who is a Teacher/Educator in Jamaica. In this episode, we dive into the personal side of teaching. How she started teaching, some struggles she faced in the early part of teaching, and some of the reasons she loves her current field of work. This is a long one. So have a seat, get comfy, and relax as we talk about the journey from a student to now a teacher.
