Today, the second Sunday of the month in May is known as Mother’s Day, and as we honor all mothers in our Parish Family today, we know that its not just one day that we should honor and show them love, this should be every day!

When things are going great, moms know. When we don‘t feel right, moms know.

On this 4th Sunday of Pascha we hear about 2 individuals who were paralyzed, one for 8 years and the other for 38 years. A parish may have a beautiful temple, faithful clergy, ministries and many names in their stewardship roll, yet if people are uninvolved, indifferent, or waiting for others to do it “Someone Else Will”, the body of Christ become weakened…possibly paralyzed.

What can be done? We follow the direction of Christ “Rise take up your pallet and walk“

Today, May 3rd we celebrate Sts. Timothy and Maura, a couple who lived the Christian Faith and because of this they were both tortured.

On this the 3rd Sunday of the Resurrection we remember the Myrrh-bearing Women and what they did in going to the tomb of our Lord bringing the myrrh. What does this tell us today about how we are to live our life?

Life can hit us hard sometimes and because of that, we can feel that we are banged up, thrown around in and through the present winds of life - which may be vocation/job changes, health issues, rejection, you name it.

Yet today we hear the situation of Thomas, who doubting the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, but Thomas is remembered also for saying something that happened a week earlier (at the death of Lazarus).

What did he say?

How can we learn from the doubt of Thomas to having the doubt free life that he (St. Thomas) had after seeing the Risen Lord?

Hiding. We may have done this when with our friends, like playing hide-n-seek, and sometimes this might be done when we are afraid of something.

Today we celebrate Palm Sunday and we heard in the Youth Sermon (Pano Coufos) having children ask their parents to bring them to the services, but it will be up to the parents to decide if that happens. Just like if we will decide to make this week Great and Holy for us.
