  • S2 Episode 9 - Gina Best
    Jun 9 2022
Gina Best is my guest on this episode. Gina has had more life changing events in her life than most people will ever experience.

On the outside, Gina appeared to have it all. However that wasn’t the case. As she says “Fake it till you make it”. Being busy was her religion. It is how she coped with the life events and how she kept moving forward without dealing with the grief and the losses from her past. It ‘s an amazing story of the events in her life and how she has found a way to cope and how she was able to find a better way to deal with life and her mental health.

It is a very personal and emotional story.
Please have a listen and share it with your friends and family.

  • S2 Episode 8 - Tanya Leopold
    Apr 26 2022
This is a unique podcast as Tanya Leopold is my first guest where we have included video along with audio. Links for both audio/ video or just audio are below.

In this episode, my guest Tanya and I discuss “What does mental health look like?”.
We often have a quick response to the question..”How are you doin?” with an answer of “I’m fine”. But are you? Are you prepared to be truthful with your answer if you are not fine and is the person asking the question prepared for your answer if you are not fine?

What does it look like to not be OK and is it really OK not to be OK?

Mental struggles are not always simple to explain and in some cases, even harder to understand.

We all have well meaning intentions but perhaps by opening up more conversations about mental health, we can all become more aware and more understanding when a person does answer the question of “How are you doing?” with “Actually, I’m not doing well today”

Please have a listen and share it amongst your friends and family.

  • S2 Episode 7 Pt. 2 - Livian Smith
    Jan 28 2022
(Part 2/2) In this episode, my guest shares with us her very personal and emotional story about her life. For some people, there are occasional setbacks, life events, and challenges thrown at them beyond their control. However with my guest, all of those kept happening one after the other.
It is an amazing life journey to listen to and what is even more inspiring is that Livian has succeeded in life in the areas that are most important to her.

Maybe it is an overused statement but “what doesn't kill us makes us stronger” could certainly be a warranted statement in this story.

We have split the conversation into two parts. Please listen to both of them and please share with friends and family.

Sometimes the career we choose can be very rewarding. However, it can also have lasting effects on us that could change the direction of our lives. We may not fully be aware of the changes that are happening to us as we struggle with some of society's beliefs that we need to have a tough attitude and just suck it up.

My guest Brad, was in firefighting for 18 years and during his time as a career firefighter he experienced repeated and untreated exposure to trauma. This exposure led to Brad’s diagnosis of PTSD.

Brad will openly share with us his amazing story of the depths of his PTSD and his courageous and truly inspiring journey on the path to healing. We don't need to know what or why something is wrong with us to ask for help. It comes from within us.
