About this listen

Welcome to Well for Goodness Sake, a PODCAST about keeping it real through real live talks and throughout all walks of life. Whether or not you are a parent, a student, a young person, married or single, or maybe you’re just now recovering from a broken relationship, this is a SAFE SPACE for you to be able to come and relax, to listen, and to find encouragement as well as that desired and relatable connection with other people who might be in the same boat you’re in right now. I am here to laugh with you, to love on you, and encourage your heart with all of mine – as much as God gives me the words to do so. We are simply searching the heart of God by getting in His presence, diving into His word, and pursuing THE 4:8 LIFE. What is THE 4:8 LIFE? Well, that’s what we are here to talk about. It begins by applying my life verse - Philippians 4:8, and then by getting in God’s presence FIRST AND DAILY and applying practical truths found in scripture in order to find that perfect peace, identity, and purpose.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Life is full of chaos, and through all of the ups and downs we experience in life, relationships, and circumstances, often outside of our ability to alter or control, we need God’s mercy and grace. We need to laugh and cry, rest and then push forward, and find that peace by embracing God’s infinite purpose for each of us. We do this by focusing on what is true and on things worthy of our time, HIS LOVE for us! Do you know how much God loves you? Do you really know?

WELCOME to this SAFE SPACE. I am so glad you’re here with me.

#16 (S3-E2) Episode 15 on the Well for Goodness Sake – THE 4:8 LIFE PODCAST is a real-life chat with author-podcaster, Jesus follower, wife, and mother, Jo Fuenzalida. On today’s episode, Part 2 of STEP UP. A welcome back to the official relaunch of the podcast, plus diving deeper into scripture to understand more about answering God’s call in your life and LETTING GO. We take a closer look at Mathew 16:24, share more relatable stories, and fully dissect obedience, surrender, and unashamedly belonging to God.

You were never meant to fill someone else’s shoes; you were meant to STEP UP, pick up the torch, and keep carrying the light!

Welcome to the SAFE SPACE. Listen and be encouraged that you are not alone.

    KEY VERSES

Matthew 16:24 KJV “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”

    KEY FOCAL POINTS

Letting Go: Discovery is made through obedience to God. The Greek word for “LET HIM DENY” is ἀπαρνέομαι. It is pronounced ap-ar-neh'-om-ahee (verb). It means to deny or lose sight of oneself. This refers to completely letting go of self-interest in order to become free and capable of “picking up your cross” to follow Christ.

The Symbol of the Torch: Throughout scripture, the torch holds symbolic meaning and has a significant purpose. There is a concept of “passing a torch”, as if passing down spiritual responsibility (example reference, 2 Timothy 1:6-7). “Stepping up with courage and strength” is used when answering God’s call (example reference, Joshua 1:9). “Answering the call in your life” is a metaphor often used when describing how Christians should be “the light of the world” (example reference, Matthew 5:14-16).

Taking Action: Accepting God’s call is marked by obedience and surrender to God. Sometimes this means letting go of something or someone.

Life of Purpose: A life unashamedly belonging to God and His call. Philippians 1:20 NIV “I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.”

#15 (S3-E1) Episode 15 on the Well for Goodness Sake – THE 4:8 LIFE PODCAST is a real-life chat with author-podcaster, Jesus follower, wife, and mother, Jo Fuenzalida. On today’s episode, Part 1 of STEP UP. A welcome into 2026 and the official relaunch of the podcast, plus diving deeper into scripture to understand more about answering God’s call in your life. Are you listening to Him? Is there something He wants you to let go of? What area does He want you to step up and carry the torch in your life?

You were never meant to fill someone else’s shoes; you were meant to STEP UP, pick up the torch, and keep carrying the light!

Welcome to the SAFE SPACE. Listen and be encouraged that you are not alone.

    KEY VERSE

    Acts 26:16 KJV

“But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee.”

    KEY FOCAL POINTS

Empty Space: Have you lost a loved one or close friend? When we lose a person to physical or spiritual death, we experience empty space. Sometimes, we do not realize the significance of that void and loss.

The Space Only God Can Fill: Nothing can replace the space filled by our Creator and Savior. In this sacred space with God, we find our purpose and identity. Here we can access radical changes just like Saul transformed into Paul when God radically changed him, offering “purpose”.

Filling The Shoes Or Grabbing The Torch: We are not meant to fill someone else’s shoes; we’re meant to answer God’s call.

Stepping Up To The Higher Calling: We get in God’s presence, hear His call, respond by taking action on that call, and allow God to work His higher calling in us. When we pick up that torch and RUN, God lights the fire.

#13 (S2-E3) Welcome to Episode 3 of 66 DAYS THROUGH THE BIBLE BOOKS on the Well for Goodness Sake – THE 4:8 LIFE PODCAST, with author-podcaster, Jesus follower, wife, and mother, Jo Fuenzalida. 66 DAYS THROUGH THE BIBLE BOOKS is a bible study of each book of the bible in chronological order. On today’s episode, an exciting walk through the entire BOOK OF LEVITICUS!
