• Ecclesiastes - Chasing After the Wind Chapter 4
    Jun 28 2026
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9 In chapter 4, the author of Ecclesiastes begins to explore ways of coping with all of the meaningless and oppressive things that happen under the sun. He is distraught by the amount of violence, cruelty, and corruption. He goes as far as to say that it would be better to be dead, or to have never been born – than to have to bear witness to all of the evil that exists in the world. Of course, he is being hyperbolic here. But hopefully we catch his point, that how people live apart from God is hard to look at. It’s here that the author offers something helpful – facing life together. A concerted effort of people choosing contentment, together. Join us as we explore the wonderful 4th chapter of this book of wisdom! -Pastor Nate Roschen

  • The Third Way of Christ – Church Campout 2026 - The Sermon on the Mount
    Jun 14 2026
Every time we gather for the church campout – I think of Christ’s first public address – His Sermon on the Mount. The people that day were gathered in a beautiful and life-giving place, surrounded by wildflowers, feeling the breeze off the Sea of Tiberius (Galilee). And the words they heard from Him… Were even more life-giving. They were words of hope. He spoke as One with authority, peeling back the layers of human rules and regulations that had be painted on to the Word of God. He stripped lose layers away – revealing a gospel, simple, and beautiful. Join us this Sunday at the Axton Ranch – as we reflect on these primary truths that we believe – and the compelling Christ whose Words are still revolutionary today. -Pastor Nate Roschen

  • Ecclesiastes - Chasing After the Wind - Ecclesiastes 3
    Jun 7 2026
“To everything, turn, turn, turn There is a season, turn, turn, turn And a time to every purpose under heaven.” - The Byrds, 1965 Chapter 3 is the hinge chapter of the book of Ecclesiastes – on this chapter, everything else turns. As you read your way through the pairs that the author has assembled to begin this chapter, you may notice something. With each pair of opposites; birth and death, planting and harvesting, killing and healing – the human being is not in control. The human being is involved, but in no way decides when any of these things will happen. Planting crops happen when creation is ready for it. Harvest occurs when the crops are ready to be picked. Human beings are active participants, but have no control over when any of these events will take place, and what their outcomes will be. Join us as Ecclesiastes tells us about our God, His Creation, and our role in it all. -Pastor Nate Roschen

  • Heartfelt Prayer
    May 31 2026
Approaching God in prayer. How should one address an intimate and loving God who is also the creator and sovereign ruler of the universe? This Sunday we will explore what it truly means to approach God, not as “renters” trying to earn His favor, but as beloved sons and daughters welcomed into His family through Christ. We will reflect on the posture of prayer marked by humility, dependence, and adoration, and encourage us to rest in the privilege of calling the King of the universe “Our Father.” Jason Moat

  • Ecclesiastes - Chasing After the Wind - Ecclesiastes 2
    May 24 2026
We have grown up believing in the value of pursuing happiness. We’re taught from an early age that this right is God-given, and vital to our lives. Did you know that the founding fathers meant so much more by this phrase than a mere pursuit of pleasure? In the 1700’s, what they meant by “happiness” was much more closely aligned with what we intend by using the word “virtue.” A life of happiness was a virtuous life. A satisfying life was one that sought more than your own good, but the good of country, community, and neighborhood. In Ecclesiastes 2, the author describes his wild pursuit of pleasure. He builds and designs and takes for himself – everything that he wants. What happens then? What happens when the dog catches up with the car? Join us, as we explore humanity’s search for meaning. What makes for a meaningful life? -Pastor Nate Roschen

  • Ecclesiastes - Chasing After the Wind - Ecclesiastes 1
    May 17 2026
This week we begin a series that I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time. We’ll look first at Ecclesiastes and then the book of Job. These books are fascinating in that in Ecclesiastes we have an individual who gained everything they wanted, and in Job, an individual who lost it all. They cover the extremes of the human experience, and I will argue – come to similar conclusions about what is meaningful in life. Ecclesiastes is a Greek translation of the Hebrew word Qoholet, meaning “teacher” or “member of an assembly.” If you’ve ever opened the pages of this book, you probably have a sense that this book is depressing, sorrowful – looking at life and declaring it hopeless or meaningless. This couldn’t be much further from the truth. Join us as we explore this remarkably relevant book and see together the value it has for us today! -Pastor Nate Roschen

  • Mother’s Day & The Missional Church - 1 Corinthians 12
    May 10 2026
Join us this week as we celebrate Mother’s Day and the significance of the women in our lives who draw us nearer to Christ! Also, this week we’re going to be looking at the mission and purpose of the church. What makes a church ‘successful’? What does success even mean when it comes to the mission and work of the church? In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul is speaking into a church full of dysfunction. The list of sins and errors of the Corinthian church is extensive. So, Paul communicates to them about the foundation of what a church is and does. The church is to be on mission. The church should grow where it’s planted. The strength of the church is that it is One in Christ – and because of this, it is able to have unity in diversity. Each person that makes up an Ekklesia (the Greek word for gathering, assembly, or church) is different, and church functions best on mission when each person is valued and uses their gifts to the fullest. Join us as we remember and celebrate our mission together! -Pastor Nate Roschen
