  • Women In... Episode 257: Erin Henry - Midlife Strength: Why Women Should Get Stronger, Not Smaller
    Oct 21 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Erin Henry is a Registered Dietitian and midlife women’s strength coach who has spent more than 20 years helping women improve their health through nutrition, movement, and behavior change.

She began her career as a senior dietitian and exercise physiologist in a physician-supervised weight-management practice, where she provided medical nutrition therapy to more than 4,000 patients. It was there that she began questioning some of the conventional approaches to weight loss. She watched many successful, intelligent women lose weight, regain it, and return increasingly defeated, often allowing a number on the scale to determine how successful they felt not only with their health, but with themselves.

That experience ultimately changed the trajectory of her work.

Today, through Erin Henry Wellness, Erin works primarily with women in midlife, helping them navigate the changing physiology of their 40s, 50s, and beyond with a different goal: to become stronger, not smaller.

Her approach brings together nutrition, progressive strength training, metabolic health, and recovery to help women preserve muscle, support their metabolism, and build the physical capacity they’ll need for the decades ahead. But for Erin, the work has become about much more than physical strength.

She believes women have spent far too much of their lives being encouraged to shrink - their bodies, their needs, their voices, and sometimes even their ambitions. She sees midlife not as a season of inevitable decline, but as an opportunity for expansion and reinvention.

Because when a woman begins getting physically stronger, Erin has found that other shifts begin to occur. She trusts herself more. Her confidence grows. Her boundaries become clearer. She begins thinking less about what her body looks like and more about what she - and it - are capable of.

At 48 and navigating this season of life alongside the women she coaches, Erin is passionate about changing the conversation around what it means for women to age well.

Her message is simple: The second half of life isn’t the time to disappear. It may be the time to take up more space than ever.
