Work is Broken | God is at Work | Scott Hill

Written by:
Work is a gift from God, but it is also broken. In this sermon, Scott explores how work can both frustrate and seduce us, drawing from Genesis 1–3 to uncover the tension between finding purpose in our work and allowing it to define us.
Pressures, frustrations and successes of work can also affect our relationships, identity and spiritual well-being. How do we receive work as a gift without asking it to save us? And what happens when a good thing becomes a god?
Through practical examples and biblical teaching, he encourages us to recognise our limitations, hold our achievements lightly and find our worth in God rather than in what we accomplish.
