Some people are exactly who they've always been. The world just had to catch up.

Ramone Giles is a creative — an artist, photographer, and lover of all things that broaden the mind and stir the soul.

From Detroit to Chicago, his journey has been anything but linear. But through every chapter, every transition, every moment of being misunderstood, Ramon stayed true to himself.

And that loyalty to self? It cost him something. But it also built him into everything he is today.

In this conversation, Ramone opens up about identity, judgment, and what it really means to live without apology. He talks about the power of creativity as a spiritual practice, the role Buddhism has played in grounding him, and what happens when you stop letting the world's noise drown out your own inner voice.

This is a conversation about knowing who you are — even when the people around you don't.

    In this episode, we cover:

🎙️ Ramone's journey from Detroit to Chicago and what shaped him along the way.

🎙️ Growing up as a creative in spaces that didn't always make room for him.

🎙️ How staying true to himself through adversity built the man he is today.

🎙️ Buddhism as a through line — spirituality woven into everyday life.

🎙️ The fear of judgment and why it shows up in more places than we think.

🎙️ What it means to be a Black man who lives fully and unapologetically.

🎙️ Creativity as expression, healing, and identity.

This episode will have you asking yourself — how much of who you are have you been hiding to make other people comfortable?

Some people are written off before they ever had a chance to be understood.

Adolfo Davis grew up in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago — and from an early age, the system saw him one way and one way only. Not as a child who needed help. Not as a kid who deserved someone to ask the right questions. Just as a problem to be dealt with.

That perception followed him. And it cost him decades.

After spending 29 years incarcerated, Adolfo fought his way to freedom — through a legal battle that stretched longer than it ever should have, fueled by the love he carries for his grandmother and a refusal to give up on himself.

When he finally came home, he didn't run from the community that raised him. He ran straight back to it.

Today, Adolfo manages violence prevention and intervention programs at Phalanx Family Services, walking alongside young people who are systems-impacted and caught between cycles of harm. Through his own organization, Saving Our Urban Leaders (SOUL), he and community leaders show up — feeding people, pouring into others, and building something lasting from the ground up.

This is a story about what it means to come home. To choose your people. And to turn the hardest chapters of your life into the foundation of someone else's future.

    In this episode, we cover:

🎙️Adolfo's early life and how the system failed to see him as a child.

🎙️What it means to spend your adult life incarcerated — and hold on anyway.

🎙️ The love he has for his grandmother and how she kept him anchored.

🎙️ Coming home and rediscovering what most of us take for granted.

🎙️ His work at Phalanx Family Services and what real violence prevention and intervention looks like.

🎙️Saving Our Urban Leaders (SOUL) and why giving back was never a question.

This episode will remind you that every story has more layers than the one the world decided to tell.

Some people show up to talk about one part of their story… and end up revealing something so much bigger.

We sit down with Sarai Graves — a voice from the LGBTQ+ community who joined us to talk about identity, experience, and upbringing. But what unfolded was so much more than that.

This conversation took a turn none of us quite expected, but that is what made it beautiful. Sarai opened up truths that have long been dismissed, buried, or labeled as "too much" — the kind of hidden knowledge that's slowly being uncovered as the world catches up.

Not conspiracy for the sake of controversy. Just truth that's been waiting for someone willing to say it out loud.

What became clear by the end of this conversation: Sarai is not defined by any single label. She is a wealth of wisdom, a truth-teller, and a reminder that every person carries far more depth than the one thing the world tries to categorize them by.

    In this episode, we cover:

🎙️Sarai's journey and experience within the LGBTQ plus community.

🎙️The moment the conversation shifted into something much deeper.

🎙️Hidden truths and forbidden knowledge she's carried and uncovered.

🎙️Why identity is never just one thing.

🎙️What it means to hold wisdom the world isn't always ready for.

This episode will leave you chasing truths your soul already knew.
