About this listen

There is a lot of extraoridnary inspiration to be found in our every day lives and the people we know and love!

During the pandemic in 2020 I did a lot of weekend walks listening to Podcasts - mostly about wellbeing, because that's what my aim for the walks were. Keeping well. Keeping going. Not crumbling. But a lot of these podcasts were often men talking to other men and at times their approaches or experiences didn't quite match my life or they were by famous people talking to other famous people - and again, a private pool didn't really fit in with my lifestyle.

One thing though that struck me on my walks was how many people I know that I already admire. For their humour, tenacity, strength, attitude, resilience - and how much I'd like to listen to them telling their story, how much I'd learn from that, how much it would motivate me on my little weekend walks. That's how the idea of this podcast was born.

It is my attempt to give a platform to these stories shared so generously, bravely and openly by people who would describe themselves as ordinary and allowing for all their extraordinary inspiration shine through.

This podcast has been a steep learning curve and journey, from interviewing to editing. It's completely self produced and I am grateful to free resources like the amazing music from https://audionautix.com/

  • Kathy
    Dec 31 2021

In this episode Kathy talks about how she lost 30kg - over 4 stone - but more importantly discovered a joy of life, exercise and wellbeing. And that includes embracing her love for french fries as well as running. She talks about her learning, dreams and accomplishments over a very short period of time.

This has been the first interview I ever recorded and hopefully I get a chance to have Kathy on again to delve a little deeper into how she works on overcoming setbacks such as injury - but also to geek out a little over the Marvel Universe.

    Dec 31 2021

In this episode Rachel talks openly and candidly of her experience with post natal depression following the difficult birth of her twin boys.

It's been a real pleasure talking to Rachel, a personal friend and someone whose strength and courage I admire greatly. She takes us on her journey of how post natal depression reared its head and impacted not just her relationship with her boys but herself and those around her. She talks about how she's looking after herself and the ups and downs of raising three small boys during the pandemic.
