Story23
A million-copy seller, Henry Hazlitt’s Economics in One Lesson is a classic economic primer. But it is also much more, having become a fundamental influence on modern “libertarian” economics of the type espoused by Ron Paul and others. Called by H. L. Mencken “one of the few economists in history who could really write,” Henry Hazlitt achieved lasting fame for this brilliant but concise work.

All key indicators of globalization rose between 1850 and 1914 during the first wave of globalization. Between 1918 and 1939 the global economy stagnated, suffering a momentous collapse during the Great Depression. After World War II, the global economy re-emerged and integration deepened.

Story0
"The History of the Standard Oil Company" is a book written by journalist Ida Tarbell in 1904. It was an exposé of the Standard Oil Company, run at that time by oil tycoon John D. Rockefeller the richest figure in America's history. Originally serialized in 19 parts in McClure's magazine, the book was a seminal example of muckraking, and inspired many other journalists to write about trusts, large businesses that (in the absence of strong antitrust law in the 19th century) attempted to gain monopolies in various industries.

Story0
"Долг: первые 5000 лет" - это масштабное и новаторское исследование товарно-денежных отношений с древнейших времен до наших дней. Американский антрополог и профессор Лондонской школы экономики Дэвид Гребер описывает, как феномен долговых обязательств проявляется в совершенно разных социальных институтах: от решений правительства до сердечной дружбы. Именно эти разногласия лежат в основе базовых представлений о морали и правде.
