Christopher M. Meissner is professor of economics at the University of California, Davis. He has published over 50 articles and chapters with a focus on the economic history of the international economy and globalization. His work spans the area of tariffs, financial crises, economic growth, and political economy. His recent book, "One from the Many" examines the global economy over the last 150 years. The book shows how trade, immigration and debt matter for the growth of countries and the overall global economy. The book argues that globalization has a bright future but countries always need to have the debate the benefits of globalization.
