"Non sono razzista, ma" illustra un meccanismo psicologico tanto elementare quanto diffuso, che mira a prendere le distanze dalle parole e dagli atti che ci tradiscono e contraddicono ciò che pensiamo di essere, o che magari vogliamo far intendere di essere. Ma ormai è entrata in crisi l'interdizione morale nei confronti di parole e atti xenofobi, che aveva costituito una sorta di presidio linguistico e culturale, ma anche sociale e politico, rispetto al ricorso a pratiche di esclusione e discriminazione. Forse davvero sta cadendo il tabù del razzismo nella società italiana.
