Exposition of the Sermon on the Mount, Volume 1, originally published in Pink’s monthly Studies in the Scriptures. As in all his writings, Pink clearly and accurately describes the truth of Jesus’ teaching to the multitudes so many years ago and how his teaching is still very relevant to us today.

Ellen Gould White (1827 - 1915) was a cofounder of what later became known as the Seventh-day Adventist Church. As one of the five volumes of her Conflict of the Ages series, The Desire of Ages is a book about the life and significance of Jesus Christ. White does not relate the story of Jesus in chronological order, but by theme. The book begins with the prophecy about the name, Immanuel, and proceeds with the birth of Jesus and his later life and ministry, including the miracles of Christ, his teachings to his disciples, and his death, resurrection, and ascension.

To English preacher Charles Spurgeon, winning souls for Christ was “that most royal employment.” This volume of his sermons focuses on that very topic. In July 1973, Bob Tininenko, his wife Linda, and his brother in-law Jim Fisher set sail from Tacoma, Washington, on a 31-foot trimaran, down the West Coast to Costa Rica. The journey was expected to take a matter of weeks, but 10 days into the cruise, the party encountered a freak storm off the coast of Northern California.
