Forth and Back and Other Stories is a lovely sampling of short stories from Russian author Alexander Grin (1880-1932). While Grin suffered through prison sentences and multiple exiles during his lifetime, his fiction often features fantasy worlds far more romantic and enticing than the harsh realities in which he lived. For those of us yet unfamiliar with Grin's work, Forth and Back serves as a perfect introduction to the fanciful creations of one of the great imaginations of the 20th century.
