Given the time and location in which it was written, the original Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi contains many events and episodes which, today, many consider unsuitable for a modern children's audience. The Disney animated version was changed in many ways to reflect this - and so is this adaptation. Chris MacDonnell and Spoken Realms have re-imagined and re-written the more unsuitable sections to reflect contemporary expectations of children's literature. However, it is still truly a children's classic and the story is largely unchanged.

L'omino anticipato, "Ossia la storia di tutti quei ragazzi che vogliono parere uomini prima del tempo", è il primo dei racconti pubblicata da Collodi nella raccolta "Storie Allegre". Ascoltandolo non può non venirci alla mente qualche espressione che si ritroverà poi in "Pinocchio"; nel racconto compare anche un cane di nome "Melampo", che si incontrerà anche nelle avventure di Pinocchio.

Carlo Collodi's whimsical recasting of the myth of Pygmalion and Galatea was first published in 1883 and has since become an established classic of children's literature. Geppetto, a poor wood carver, receives a piece of wood from which he carves a marionette. Much to his surprise, the puppet springs to life and embarks on a wild series of adventures.
