Once upon a time, there was a king and a queen who were very sorry that they had no children - so sorry that it cannot be told. At last, however, the queen had a daughter. There was a very fine christening, and the princess had for her godmothers all the fairies they could find in the whole kingdom (there were seven of them), so that every one of them might confer a gift upon her, as was the custom of fairies in those days. By this means the princess had all the perfections imaginable.

This story is proof that there may be no more cunning a creature in all the world - as a cat. Deceptive, conniving, underhanded, and perhaps caring only about their own comfort. Welcome to the world of cats in this delightful tale that gives a great gift to a miller's son, but never at the expense - of the cat. A classic narrated by Glenn Hascall.

In order to save his own life, Puss becomes a very clever kitty. He makes his master into something he's not, fools a King and his daughter, and eats an Ogre, all in a day's work! The French tale is narrated with vivid voices, by Kathy Verduin.

Poor, raggedy little girl, meets Fairy Godmother, who transforms her life from rags to riches. This puts her way beyond the reach of her nasty step sisters... But, what does she do to them when she marries the Prince?

When the youngest of three sons inherits only a cat, he believes he is destined to die of starvation. But the cat turns out to be rather an extraordinary animal. Not only is he able to speak, he is also a highly resourceful and cunning creature. The cat asks for a pair of boots and a sack. He uses the sack to catch rabbits and partridges which he presents to the King as gifts from the "Marquis of Carabas". The King is curious to meet the mysterious Marquis who sends such generous gifts.

A classic story for all ages. A plot that has been used often in great storytelling, and a heroine beloved by many generations. Let Cinderella charm you again.

Once upon a time there was a miller who left no more riches to the three sons he had than his mill, his ass, and his cat. The division was soon made. Neither the lawyer nor the attorney was sent for. They would soon have eaten up all the poor property. The eldest had the mill, the second the ass, and the youngest nothing but the cat. Read in English, unabridged.
