Wells used John Ruskin's remark that an angel appearing on earth in Victorian England would be shot on sight as the inspiration for this tale of a celestial being who is completely out of place in human society. Ironically, the angel's first confidant and protector is a clergyman, who never recovers from the eventual and inevitable disappearance of the angel. Wells dwells in detail on the contrast between the idealism of the celestial visitor and the discourtesy of his hosts.

The gang turns out to be more dangerous than even Stetson Jeff could imagine, so he flees Philadelphia and finds refuge among the Amish in Paradise, Pennsylvania. More kickboxing, bad guys and low-speed chases ensue (think forklift vs. horse and buggy). With a nod to Harrison Ford's "The Witness" and plenty of other 80s tropes, Stetson Jeff, now changing hats as often as an Amish family goes to church, is in serious trouble, but he'll find his way through.

After the Songklam gang chases Stetson Jeff Stetson out of Thailand, he travels to Marrakesh, where he ends up in a camel race and discovers that a mysterious company called A.S.P. is up to no good. Will Stetson Jeff ever make it back to Texas? And is there any steak—or justice—to be had in Morocco?
