La meta di ogni disciplina yoga è essenzialmente quella di porre delle condizioni per cui si possa giungere all'Unità col Supremo, unità con l'essere supremo, con la coscienza del Supremo e con la beatitudine del Supremo, e ciò non è realizzabile se non ci si eleva ad un livello e a una intensità di coscienza più alti di quelli che appartengono alla nostra mentalità comune. Il principio dello Hatha Yoga si fonda sull'intima relazione esistente fra corpo e anima.

Usiamo la parola intuizione per coprire molto di più del verificarsi di "intuizioni". Sotto la parola intuizione classifichiamo tutti i fenomeni misteriosi e apparentemente inspiegabili che passano in gran parte inosservati nel nostro mondo: chiaroveggenza, transfert del pensiero, materializzazione e smaterializzazione di oggetti, levitazione, contatto con il mondo degli spiriti, oltre alla comprensione istintiva delle leggi di costruzione (come nella matematica e nella musica).
