Blood. Torture. Murder. They've been my only companions for centuries. I haven't needed or wanted anything else. Until I see Matty smile. Then something in me, something that's been dormant for centuries, begins to reawaken. Matty doesn't belong in my world. He's loving, innocent, and full of joy. The darkness of my life would corrupt him in a heartbeat, but when he's dragged into it against his will, nothing can stop me from delivering my personal brand of justice. Matty keeps fighting for things I can't give him, for things I'm no longer capable of. I can't come between him and his family.

People of Faith for Justice
- Written by: Gina Whitaker & Jason Sisk-Provencio

Story0
As clergy and laity from a variety of backgrounds, our commitment to justice is expressed in differing ways dependent upon our faith tradition and our personal understandings of God. We will not always agree on issues, rather find ourselves surprised when we do. The manner in which we negotiate the differences amongst ourselves is in itself part of our commitment to justice. We believe that God wills shalom; peace, justice and well-being for all people, all nations, and for our planet. God's shalom has firm scriptural grounding in the concepts of social righteousness, justice and peacemaking.

Punjab was the arena of one of the first major armed conflicts of postcolonial India. During its deadliest decade, as many as 250,000 people were killed. This audiobook makes an urgent intervention in the history of the conflict, which to date has been characterized by a fixation on sensational violence - or ignored altogether. Mallika Kaur unearths the stories of three people who found themselves at the center of Punjab’s human rights movement.

Story0
In The Wounds Are the Witness, Yolanda Pierce, dean of Vanderbilt University Divinity School and author of In My Grandmother's House, weaves together her own memories, vignettes from Black life, and scenes from scripture, especially the passion of Christ. To work for liberation in a broken world, we cannot look away from crucified flesh. Bones from the Middle Passage, GI Bill benefits denied to Black veterans, women inmates shackled while giving birth: we must take all such wounds seriously. They testify to both the pain and the faith of a people.

Story0
In 2015, the historian Chris Momany helped discover a manuscript that had been forgotten in a storage closet at Adrian College in Michigan. He identified it as the journal of a nineteenth-century Christian abolitionist and missionary, David Ingraham. As Momany and a fellow historian Doug Strong pored over the diary, they realized that studying this document could open new conversations for twenty-first-century Christians to address the reality of racism today. They invited a multiracial team of fourteen scholars to join in, thus launching the Dialogue on Race and Faith Project.
