An energizing case for hope about the climate comes from Rebecca Solnit, called “the voice of the resistance” by the New York Times, and climate activist Thelma Young Lutunatabua, along with a chorus of voices calling on us to rise to the moment. Not Too Late is the book for anyone who is despondent, defeatist, or unsure about climate change and seeking answers. Story0
The poet Katherine Philips was called "The Matchless Orinda" in her day and was well known for her works, both personal and political. She was a staunch Royalist (a supporter of Charles I and his son during the English Civil Wars) and wrote poetic defenses of the monarchy. She was also part of a literary coterie, in which she and her friends had "code names." Philips herself was "Orinda," her husband "Antenor," and her friend Anne Owen "Lucasia." She is perhaps best known today for her passionate poems celebrating female friendship. (Summary by Elizabeth Klett)

Story0
To this day, Easter Island, with its magnificent stone structures, remains an enigma. Katherine Routledge was part of an exhaustive archaeological expedition to try and find answers. While the study was enlightening, it did not answer all the questions the party had. Some critics suggested it was unsuccessful for not solving the riddle. Others said it was disappointing as it removed all mystery from the island. The truth was somewhere in the middle. - Summary by LynneT
