In the wake of two foiled assassination attempts while Donald Trump was campaigning for President, many of his supporters claimed Trump's survival was an act of Divine intervention, and a sign that Trump was favored by God. In his victory speech, Trump alluded to this. But his survival prompts other questions: Why did God spare Trump, but not the retiree sitting behind him? Why couldn't God have spared everyone that day? And if God is truly omnipotent, why do so many children die in gun violence every year?

It’s time to wake the sleeping giant in our world, in our communities, in our churches, and in our homes. There’s a revolution brewing, a sleeping giant coming out of a long slumber. For years, men have been sitting to the side, minding their own business, nursing their own wounds. But that time is reaching its end. Our wounds must surely be tended to, and our business must surely be minded. We are meant for greater things than these, and the world can no longer indulge our slumber.

Jesus challenges God’s man to throw all those words out the window. Because, when it comes to your faith, all the energy spent eliminating risk from your life actually becomes a barrier to progress in your spiritual journey. Jesus said, "If you try to keep your life for yourself you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake…you will find true life" (Mark 8:35).

Failsafe reconnects men to their identity in Christ: made in the image of a loving God and remade as new creations no longer bound to the patterns of this world, thanks to the saving work of Jesus. As this connection with God is strengthened, men are reborn. Their emotional lives realign. Their character, spirituality, and emotional health come back into congruence, and they can face the hard things of the world with bold assurance, knowing that they are no longer slaves to their fear, their pain, or the expectations of others.
