Known as the "Prince of Preachers", Charles H. Spurgeon, although he preached in the mid-19th century, is still revered by Christians today. From his missive Morning by Morning, Mike Vendetti narrates Spurgeon's morning readings for the month of October.

Long before the Internet, mass media, or radio, it is estimated that Charles H. Spurgeon (1834 - 1892) appeared before more than 10 million people. Known as the "Prince of Preachers" Spurgeon, he remains influential today among Christians of many denominations. Taken from "Evening by Evening (Readings at Eventide)" these are the selected readings for February.

Billy Sunday the acclaimed evangelist of the early 20th century did this sermon extolling Christians to vote for prohibition. Much of his rhetoric resembled today's reasoning for not legalizing marijuana.

Little is known of the life of Zen master Huang-Po (Obaku in Japanese). He was born in Fuzhou, China, and died about 850 AD. His main teacher was Pai Chang (Hyakujo) (720 - 814). The main source for Huang-Po's teaching is the Treatise of the Essentials of the Transmission of the Mind, compiled by his student, Pei Xiu. Huang-Po's teaching is focused on the concept of Mind, the essence of intrinsic Buddahood. According to the master, the search for enlightenment was a useless distraction, as seeking for something inevitably separates the seeker from what is being sought.
