Alex is a normal, everyday kid, living in a normal, everyday city. Axel is a monster-slaying hero, living in a world of magic. Martin Taschenbier findet seinen Mut! Martin Taschenbier ist der Viertkleinste in der Klasse und der Zweitschwächste. In puncto Schüchternheit ist er sogar auf Platz 1. Martin traut sich einfach gar nichts. Doch dann kommt das Sams. Martins Wunsch, ein Anderer zu sein, kann es zwar nicht erfüllen, aber es hilft ihm, mutiger und selbstbewusster zu werden.

Manchmal ist Herr Taschenbier sich nicht sicher, ob es wirklich der beste aller Wünsche war, dass das Sams für immer bei ihm bleibt. Schließlich hat es keine Punkte mehr im Gesicht und kann keine Wünsche mehr erfüllen, es ist nur noch vorlaut und gefräßig! Noch schlimmer aber ist, dass Herr Taschenbier sich verliebt hat und sich nicht traut seine Angebetete anzusprechen... Wenn das Sams doch nur wieder Wunschpunkte hätte!

Weil am Sonntag die Sonne scheint, am Montag Herr Mon zu Besuch kommt, am Dienstag Dienst ist und am Mittwoch Wochenmitte, weil es am Donnerstag donnert und am Freitag frei gibt - deswegen, aber auch nur deswegen, kommt am Samstag das Sams zurück, jenes kleine rüsselnasige Wesen mit den roten Stachelhaaren, das der brave Herr Taschenbier gleich beim ersten Besuch so lieb gewonnen hat.

An der Schule findet die Ausstellung „Ballettmode im Wandel der Zeit" statt. Heimlich probieren die beiden zwei besondere Kostüme an und dabei macht Cece eine erstaunliche Entdeckung. Ihre magischen Fähigkeiten scheinen sich weiterentwickelt zu haben.

Würstchenketten im Christbaum, Weihnachtslieder mit Saxophonbegleitung, jede Menge Geschenke und eine ganze Horde Samse. Aber der Zauberspruch, den sich das Mini-Sams merken muss, um zurück in Papa Taschenbiers Zimmer zu gelangen, ist einfach zu kompliziert.

Nichts darf man! Und so muss sich das Sams den ganzen Tag langweilen, während Herr Taschenbier auf der Arbeit ist. Draußen beobachtet es, wie ein paar Kinder einen Drachen steigen lassen. So was hätte das Sams auch gern. Weil der Drachenladen aber geschlossen ist, benutzt das Sams ausnahmsweise die verbotene Wunschmaschine. Und plötzlich steht vor ihm ein echter kleiner Drache! Ein lustiges Versteckspiel beginnt, denn natürlich darf Frau Rotkohl auf keinen Fall etwas erfahren. Auffällig ist nur, dass alle plötzlich so viel Glück haben.

Immer wieder samstags! Natürlich hatte Herr Taschenbier nicht die leiseste Ahnung, dass am Samstag das Sams zu ihm kommen würde. Wie sollte er auch? Aber plötzlich war es da, nannte ihn Papa, war laut und frech und sang, alles Dinge, die Herr Taschenbier so gar nicht mag. Trotzdem finden beide Gefallen aneinander und Herr Taschenbier wird sogar selber einmal ein bisschen frech zu seiner strengen Vermieterin, der Frau Rotkohl. Er mag sich gar nicht mehr vom Sams trennen, als die Woche rum ist.
