Our retro-tech towns might seem idyllic, yet go beyond the arcades and coffee shops and you'll reach the danger zones roamed by bionic bots. Me? I ran a video store with my cute friend Emiko. Along the way, he meets a clever apothecary named Mira, who helps him acclimate to the ins and outs of the realm, and Patches, a corpulent cat who’s slightly . . . shall we say, unusual. Dubbing the pub “The Old Lamplighter,” Sylas hopes it will be a safe haven for other weary souls. Of course, it doesn’t feel that safe when the prompt reappears with a warning: [You have 89 days until the invasion.]

I’m a DIY wizard with magic powers, but that doesn’t stop demons from trying to kill me. Once a successful realtor, I gave up the corporate life to pursue my passion: spending time with my ragtag family and repairing my mansion. I’ve got my work cut out for me. The sweet nymph needs me to winter-proof the garden, the boisterous dullahan needs a new stable, and our goth demon roomie needs a place to work on her projects.
