William Hope Hodgson was born in Essex, England, on November 15th, 1877. Over his short career he produced a large body of work which explored and covered many genres. From horror, to science fiction, to stories on the sea, where he had spent much of his early life. One of his most memorable creations was his Carnacki, Supernatural Detective creation. This fused together his passion for sleuthing and interest in the Occult. It was a memorable success.

Their latest assignment takes the Ghost Finders of the Carnaki Institute to a small country village, site of a famously haunted inn. At first, JC thinks that the spirits in the King’s Arm Inn are more the stuff of folk tales and legend than anything that needs the Ghost Finder’s expertise. Then they are shown to their rooms and the inn shows its true face to JC, Melody, and Happy, and it isn’t pretty.

JC, Happy, and Melody are investigating a haunting at the long-abandoned Haybarn Theater, which is being renovated. But work has been thrown off-schedule by some peculiar and unnatural activities and a homeless man who appears to have been scared to death. After the potentially world-altering recent events of their previous assignment at Chimera House, the team thinks that a haunted theater (aren't they all?) will be a walk in the park.
