Shore Road has a bunch of auto thefts outside Bayport, home territory of the Hardy Boys, Frank and Joe. They find out that one of their friends, Jack Dodd and his father, have been accused of the thefts. This bothers the lads because they feel certain there has been a big mistake and they intend to do something about it. As a result of their intentions and investigation the Hardy Boys wind up helping in capture of the actual car thieves who had framed and kidnapped their friends. It’s exciting listening as they work hard to aid the Dodds, father and son.

When teenage brothers Frank and Joe Hardy hear about a string of car thefts on Shore Road, they can’t resist diving into the case. Bayport, the home of the Hardy Boys, is suddenly experiencing numerous car thefts. The challenge is that the police, state troopers, and even Frank and Joe's detective father, Fenton Hardy, have had no luck in figuring out how the cars disappear along the Shore Road without trace.

Car thieves are busy in Bayport, the home of Frank and Joe Hardy. After cars and trucks are stolen, they seem to simply disappear somewhere along the Shore Road. Then their chum, Jack Dodd, and his father are arrested even though they claim innocence. Are they guilty or is their prior farm hand, Gus Montrose, involved in the thefts? Frank and Joe make a plan to lure the thieves. Do they have enough nerve to go through with it? Their encounter with the desperate criminals leads to grave danger. They are kidnapped!

But when the famous actress' hugely expensive diamond necklace goes missing, Piotr's dad, a security guard at the theatre, is a prime suspect. With the help of Sylvie and her twin sister, Flora, can Piotr, Andrew, and Minnie solve the crime?

While riding their motorcycles along the Shore Road, Frank and Joe Hardy, along with their pal Chet Morton, meet a local fisherman who has just had his car stolen. The three boys give chase, and further down the road find their chum, Jack Dodd, and his father being questioned by the police because a stolen car was found in their yard. The Hardy boys, of course, resolve to solve the case and clear their friend’s name, as many other auto thefts have also taken place recently.
