William Butler Yeats was born in Sandymount in County Dublin, Ireland, on 13th June 1865. Yeats is perhaps best described as Ireland’s national poet in addition to being one of the major twentieth-century literary figures of the English tongue. He represents the ‘Romantic poet of modernism,’ with an extraordinary style created from the outward emphasis on the expression of emotions and the extensive use of symbolism, imagery and allusions.

Described by Yeats as a 'bread and butter' letter to Sweden, and 'at last a part of [his] autobiography', The Bounty of Sweden compellingly recounts his journey to Stockholm to accept the prestigious Nobel Prize in Literature. An exemplary piece of travel writing, The Bounty of Sweden includes a profound meditation on Stockholm itself, detailing Yeats's fascination with the Swedish Royal Court and documenting his charming encounters with the local people of the city.

Dramatis Personae is a four part autobiographic collection, published by Yeats in 1936 and detailing incidents, events, and people he met who influenced his artistic development as a poet. The first section is Dramatis Personae and describes Yeats' meetings with Lady Augusta Gregory at Coole Park, Galway, which eventually led to the creation of the Irish National Theatre Society and the opening of the Abbey Theatre in 1904.
