Anna Bellini, commissario di polizia, e Giada Santini, ufficiale dei servizi segreti, riescono a salvare Nicola Maceratini e il capitano dei carabinieri Tommaso Sauro, il quale si occupa di recupero opere d'arte. Anna accetta di collaborare con lui per arrivare all'arresto di Naseen. Come prima cosa, Tommaso porta Anna ad un'asta e le fa incontrare un facoltoso appassionato d'arte, tale Vittorio Spada. Anna ottiene un incontro a casa di Vittorio Spada, ma, quando va a trovarlo, la situazione degenera.

Il commissario Anna Bellini è invischiata nel caso Roveda più di quanto mai avrebbe pensato. Ora scopre che Rebecca Garrone, il suo referente nei servizi segreti, è stata allontanata, e al suo posto è arrivata una certa Giada Santini. Ora Anna dovrà avere a che fare solo con lei. I metodi di Giada sono molto diversi da quelli di Rebecca. La prima azione estrema che Giada ordina ad Anna è infatti di distruggere l'archivio di Roveda. Ha intenzione di farlo saltare in aria.

Anna Bellini, commissario di polizia milanese, è sempre più coinvolta dal caso spionistico legato alla morte dell'usuraio Antonio Roveda. Ora deve fingere di essere solo interessata ai soldi e di volere quindi vendere l'archivio di Roveda. Insieme al suo capo, Nicola Maceratini, preparano l'incontro che Anna dovrà avere con Besic, imprenditore legato all'Isis. Anna va al ristorante di Besic. L'uomo d'affari è fascinoso e seduttivo, ma anche duro e spietato.

Con Gillo ancora in coma, e l'archivio segreto di Roveda nelle sue mani, Anna Bellini deve continuare a muoversi nel sottobosco della criminalità che ruotava attorno a Roveda e alla sua banda, in cerca di una via d'uscita. Anna, costretta da Maceratini a far uscire di galera Zeller, decide di usare il criminale come esca. Anna segue Zeller in auto e assiste al tentativo di due killer di ucciderlo. Anna interviene, ferisce uno dei killer e salva Zeller. Anna porta il killer al Lovers Hotel e lo interroga.

Dopo l'agguato al Lovers Hotel, Gillo è in ospedale, in coma. Anna non ha però nessuna intenzione di arrendersi. Anna contatta in carcere Vincenzina Cappelli, ex socia di Roveda. Anni prima, Vincenzina aveva fatto una scenata durante il matrimonio di Roveda con Laura Pozzi. Vincenzina racconta ad Anna che Roveda era innamorato di un'altra donna, Marcella Vizzini. E' lei la chiave del mistero. Oggi Marcella vive col marito Renzo Simonetti.

Chi ha ucciso Antonio Roveda, l'usuraio della Milano che conta? E soprattutto, dove si nasconde il suo archivio segreto? E' quello che deve scoprire il commissario di polizia Anna Bellini, coinvolta suo malgrado in un complesso caso in cui niente è come sembra. Insieme al suo collega e fidanzato Gillo De Francisci, sovrintendente di polizia, Anna Bellini da tempo proteggeva le notti di Roveda al Lovers Hotel. Il fatto che Roveda sia stato ucciso proprio al Lovers mette Anna e Gillo in una posizione molto difficile.

Chi ha ucciso Antonio Roveda, usuraio della Milano che conta? E soprattutto, dove si nasconde l'archivio nel quale Roveda ha accumulato informazioni e segreti su tutti i potenti della città? È quello che dovrà scoprire Anna Bellini, commissario di polizia milanese, coinvolta suo malgrado nei misteri legati alla morte del pericoloso latitante. Insieme al suo fidanzato, il sovrintendente Gillo De Francisci, Anna Bellini proteggeva le notti di Roveda al Lovers Hotel.
