In the seventh and eighth centuries AD, armies inspired by the new religion of Islam burst out of Arabia to subjugate the Levant, southwest Asia, North Africa and the Iberian peninsula. These Arab conquests followed immediately after the Prophet Mohammed's death in 632. By this time, against all the odds, he had managed to unite the feuding tribes of Arabia at the point of his sword. The Muslim conquests lasted until 750, by which time several generations of marauding Arab armies had carved out an Islamic empire which, in size and population, rivalled that of Rome at its zenith.

كتاب لطيف مختصر يسرد أحداث السيرة النبوية والتاريخ الإسلامي بشكل سريع جدًا، يمكن أن تقرأه في ساعة واحدة كما أراد مؤلفه -أكرمه الله- الذي اعتمد على طريقة الإشارات إلى الأحداث دون ذكر التفاصيل؛ ليحفز القاريء ويغريه بالبحث عن تفاصيل هذه الأحداث والقصص المشوقة في الكتب المطولة أو المتوسطة -والتي ذكر المؤلف طرفًا منها في بداية الكتاب- وكأنه بذلك يقدم استعراضًا عامًا للأحداث لمن أراد الاختصار، فإن شئت الدخول في التفاصيل فهاهي العناوين التي يمكنك البحث عنها، وهاهي المصادر التي يمكنك البحث فيها!.

يعرض الكتاب سردًا زمنيًّا للعصور الذهبية للحضارة الإسلامية وذلك بدءًا من سنة 570 ميلاديًّا، أي مع ميلاد النبي محمد ﷺ، مع بيان صدى ذلك في العصر الحاضر. كتاب تاريخ ضائع يرد حقًّا وينسب فضلًا لرواد أوائل، لن يوفيهم إلا فيض من العرفان والتقدير بذلك الحق وهذا الفضل.
