So gründete er parallel zur Lach- und Schießgesellschaft den Fußballclub FC Schmiere, der mit sämtlichen Bundesligamannschaften trainierte. Zum wechselnden Kader gehörte auch die gesamte Weltmeistermannschaft von 1954. Dieter Hildebrandt erzählt mit Begeisterung von seiner Leidenschaft - und deutsche Geschichte.

Diese brennende Frage stellt sich Dieter Hildebrandt, als er sich zusammen mit seiner Frau Renate in einen Senioren-Container begibt, wo sie vor den Kameras einer ihnen unbekannten Produktionsfirma ein fernsehseriengemäßes Leben streng nach Drehbuch führen sollen. Insgeheim jedoch trotzt der eingesperrte Kabarettist den allgegenwärtigen Beobachtern mit satirischen Betrachtungen über den deutschen Fernsehwahnsinn.

Dieter Hildebrandt war in den vergangenen Jahren ein eifriger Vorleser seiner Texte. Bei Lesereisen lernte er seine Heimat Deutschland so richtig kennen, und er war fasziniert von den fulminanten Angeboten der Hotellerie, dem begeisterten Service der Bahn AG wie der Lufthansa, von kulinarischen Angeboten in allen deutschen Auen; und wenn er im Hotelzimmer mal den Fernseher anschaltete, verging ihm der Appetit. Seine Erlebnisse auf diesen Fahrten hat er aufgeschrieben - und sie zeigen den großen Kabarettisten erneut als kritischen und witzigen Erzähler.
